Paddy Pimblett is looking to make a statement at UFC 329 against Benoit Saint-Denis.

Pimblett is coming off a decision loss to Justin Gaethje for the interim lightweight title. As he looks to get back into the win column, he will take on Saint-Denis in the co-main event of UFC 329 on July 11, which sees Conor McGregor taking on Max Holloway in the main event.

Entering UFC 329, Pimblett is the betting underdog, but he has confidence he won’t just beat Saint-Denis but will finish him inside two rounds.

“Preparation is going great. I think he’s a very good fighter,” Pimblett said to TNT Sports.. “I respect BSD, I think he’s very intense. He comes forward and tries to finish fights. He’s never won past the second round, but he’s not going to get past the second round with me, I think. I’ve got cleaner striking than him. I’m a better grappler and I’ve got better cardio. I don’t see where he can beat me, to be honest.”

Paddy Pimblett expects to finish Benoit Saint-Denis

Although Pimblett has full confidence he can beat Saint-Denis, he knows the Frenchman does pose some problems.

However, Pimblett believes Saint-Denis will be one-dimensional at UFC 329 as he won’t want to grapple with him.

“BSD’s biggest threat is his left body kick or wherever he throws it, his left kick and his backhand,” Pimblett added “He’s got power and he throws everything with intent. He does try and take everyone down, but I can’t see him trying to take me down because he knows I’ll submit him.”

If Pimblett does finish Saint-Denis at UFC 329, it would be a statement-making win and would get him right back in the title picture. His first fight against Gaethje was a classic, so perhaps the Brit could get a rematch for the belt with a win at UFC 329.
