Paddy Pimblett believes he can secure Conor McGregor bout after UFC 329: ‘I’ll fight him at welterweight in MSG’

Paddy Pimblett believes UFC 329 is set up for him to face Conor McGregor next time out.

McGregor is set to headline UFC 329 against Max Holloway at welterweight in a highly anticipated bout. Pimblett, meanwhile, is fighting in the co-main event against Benoit Saint-Denis.

With Pimblett and McGregor both fighting on the same card, the Scouser believes that if they both win, they could fight each other later this year in a massive fight.

“The perfect fight for me would be Conor,” Pimblett said to UFC Europe. … “If McGregor wins, and I win, I want to fight again before the end of the year. I’ll fight him at welterweight in MSG, something like that. We’ve got to let everything unfold. You don’t know what’s going to happen. Conor’s got to beat Max. I’ve got to beat ‘BSD’. Anything can happen. As we know, fighting sports, one punch can change the whole realm of the game, it can change. That’s the butterfly effect. It can change everything for every other opponent.”

Pimblett is also excited to be on a McGregor card, as he knows it will bring plenty more eyeballs to his fight against Saint-Denis.

Paddy Pimblett also wants a Justin Gaethje rematch

Although Pimblett is hopeful to secure the fight with Conor McGregor after UFC 329, he also has another fight he wants, and that’s a rematch with Justin Gaethje.

Pimblett believes he has the tools to beat Gaethje, and he wants the chance to prove it.

“It’s mad to be honest,” Pimblett added. “Obviously, I won seven fights in a row, and I don’t think my stock went up as (it did) losing my last fight. Beating people like Michael Chandler, Bobby Green, Tony Ferguson, and people are like meh. I got my head punched in for five rounds and my stock went up, people are saying I lost, but I won. In my eyes, I lost. My stock went up because I had a five-round war with a legend like Justin Gaethje. I want that back, I want to fight him again before he retires. Time to get back into the win column.”

But, in order for Pimblett to get the McGregor or Gaethje fights, he will need to beat Benoit Saint-Denis at UFC 329, which is easier said than done.
