Bruce Buffer is amazed the draw Conor McGregor still has ahead of UFC 329: ‘It’s going to be a big fight’

UFC Octagon announcer Bruce Buffer knows UFC 329 will be a massive event due to the return of Conor McGregor.
McGregor is set to end his five-year-long layoff on Saturday in the main event of UFC 329 in a welterweight fight against Max Holloway. It serves as a rematch of their 2013 fight, which McGregor won by decision when they were both at featherweight.
Although McGregor hasn’t fought in five years and hasn’t won since January of 2020, Buffer knows the Irishman is still a major draw.
“It’s amazing,” Buffer said on Just Scrap Radio on BJPENN.com about McGregor’s draw. “He still holds that draw, he still holds that appeal, he still holds that excitement. It’s why the tickets sold out in minutes; it’s why they are getting scalped for God knows how much money. There’s also a prediction that I heard that even the number of eyeballs that were on the White House could be surpassed by the Conor McGregor vs. Max Holloway fight on July 11. And it remains to be seen.
“Let’s face it, the fighter with the it factor only comes around every few years, and Conor came from being on a $150 Euro a month Irish welfare check to being worth hundreds of millions of dollars he’s worth today. Half the people want to see him win, and half the people want to see him lose, but everyone is going to tune in and watch the fight. It’s going to be a big fight.”
Buffer said he’s already feeling the hype and anticipation of Conor McGregor’s return at UFC 329. The event also serves as International Fight Week, which is also a major event for the UFC every year, and it’s only bigger with the Irishman returning.
