Jon Jones says he is busy 'chasing GOAT status'

Current UFC interim light heavyweight champion Jon Jones will look to once again become the undisputed champion when he faces reigning champion Daniel Cormier in the main event of UFC 200. Jones posted a message on his Instagram account letting everyone around him know that he will be busy getting ready for his fight on July 9.

Last month Conor McGregor was pulled from his UFC 200 main event slot after refusing to fulfill his media obligations for his fight with Nate Diaz. After a brief scramble, the UFC decided to have Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier fill the main event slot with their highly anticipated rematch for the light heavyweight championship. Jones took to Instagram to thank McGregor for the main event slot, and reveal an interesting bit of information about just what a UFC 200 main event fighter has to go through in terms of media obligations.

On July 9th at UFC 200, fight fans will finally see the long awaited rematch between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier for the UFC light heavyweight championship. This time however, Jones, who currently holds the UFC interim light heavyweight championship, will be coming into the fight as the challenger, while Cormier comes into the fight as the champion. Despite that, Jones has still opened as the favorite in betting lines ahead of the fight.
