It was just last week that WWE founder Vince McMahon resigned from the company and the board.

McMahon himself issued the following statement via ‘Deadline’:

“I stand by my prior statement that Ms. Grant’s lawsuit is replete with lies, obscene made-up instances that never occurred, and is a vindictive distortion of the truth. I intend to vigorously defend myself against these baseless accusations and look forward to clearing my name.”

“However, out of respect for the WWE Universe, the extraordinary TKO business and its board members and shareholders, partners, and constituents, and all of the employees and Superstars who helped make WWE into the global leader it is today, I have decided to resign from my executive chairmanship and the TKO board of directors, effective immediately.”

Apparently, McMahon is being sued by a former employee for sex trafficking and civil battery among other accusations.

In the lawsuit, Janel Grant alleges that Vince McMahon used her to secure lucrative deals by directing her to have sex with men.  Grant also claims that McMahon sexually assaulted her during work hours in his own office.

Grant’s attourney, Ann Callis offered up the following statement:

“Today’s complaint seeks to hold accountable two WWE executives who sexually assaulted and trafficked Plaintiff Janel Grant, as well as the organization that facilitated or turned a blind eye to the abuse and then swept it under the rug. She is an incredibly private and courageous person who has suffered deeply at the hands of Mr. McMahon and Mr. Laurinaitis. Ms. Grant hopes that her lawsuit will prevent other women from being victimized. The organization is well aware of Mr. McMahon’s history of depraved behavior, and it’s time that they take responsibility for the misconduct of its leadership.”

UFC color commentator, Joe Rogan, weighed in on the lawsuit during his recent podcast saying (h/t MMAMania):

“Yo, dude, that Vince McMahon is wild! That boy’s out there. But the thing is when I see that dude with his shirt off, he’s 80 years old he’s got a chain around his neck, what are you shocking me with this information? Don’t you think it takes a lot to get that guy going? I think he probably needs a lot just for stimulation. Listen, he’s a billionaire, he’s been running pro wrestling for f**king decades. He’s world-famous CEO of this giant f**king multinational company, pro wrestling company. He’s also in pro wrestling, he gets out there and competes, he does it, performs I should say.”

It was only recently that the WWE merged with the UFC under the TKO banner led by Ari Emanuel.

What do you think of the recent accusations made by one of Vince McMahon’s employees? Do you believe the now former WWE executive will be held accountable?
