Report | Gunnar Nelson injured, forced out of fight with Neil Magny at UFC Liverpool

The octagon will invade Liverpool, England on May 27 for the promotions UFC Fight Night 130 event.

The card is headlined by a highly anticipated welterweight scrap featuring former two time title challenger Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson taking on undefeated contender Darren Till.

The co-main event of the evening was expected to showcase another key welterweight battle in the form of Gunnar Nelson vs. Neil Magny.

Unfortunately for fight fans, “Gunni” has apparently suffered a bad knee injury which will require surgery and has thus been pulled from the UFC Liverpool fight card, this according to a report from TheMMATakeover.

Farah Hannoun would later confirm the aforementioned report.

No replacement opponent has been named for Gunnar Nelson at this time, but the hope is to keep Neil Magny on the May 27 fight card.
