UFC CEO Dana White is firing back at reporters who claimed Dustin Poirier vs. Benoit Saint-Denis at UFC 299 was never agreed to.

On Thursday, Poirier took to social media to reveal his fight with Saint-Denis was off. He then texted ESPN’s Brett Okamoto saying the fight was never agreed to.

“There was no contractual agreement before the fight was announced and we couldn’t come to terms,” Poirier told ESPN.

After Dustin Poirier shared that news, many fans started to get annoyed that Dana White would announce a fight before it was agreed to. MMA reporter Guilherme Cruz brought up his interview with Saint-Denis’ coaches who admitted they didn’t know the fight was happening until White announced it, which the UFC CEO says isn’t true at all, and he showed text conversations to back it up.

“Hey Guilherme Cruz. Go f**k yourself scumbag,” White said.

The text conversation between Dana White and Benoit Saint-Denis went as follows, which took place on January 7, three days before the fight was announced:

White: “I may have it done today. Just wanted to make sure those days worked. If it’s Miami, it will be 5rds. Co-main event at UFC 299, I’ll text you later to confirm. Please do not say anything to anyone. Don’t wait it leaking, please.”

Saint-Denis: “Oss no worries, I keep it for me. March or April is ok for me.”

White: “March. 5 rds. Got it done! We just filmed the announcement… Get ready my man!”

Saint-Denis: “Great news thank you very much let’s go to battle.”

Dana White didn’t stop at the text conversation, in his next Instagram story he doubled down on his hatred of the media for creating a false story that the fight wasn’t agreed to.

“You media guys are such pieces of shit. Writing whatever click bait u can to be first and not right. This is why NOBODY trusts or likes you,” White wrote.

Although Dana White is taking aim at the media, it was Poirier who said he never agreed to the fight and couldn’t come to terms with the UFC for the bout. But, the UFC CEO claimed it was a done deal, so why the fight has now fallen through isn’t certain.

With Dustin Poirier vs. Benoit Saint-Denis off, UFC 299 is as follows:
