A superfight between WMMA superstar Cris Cyborg, and former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has always been just out of arms reach for MMA fans.

Earlier this month, when UFC President Dana White announced that Rousey would be returning to the Octagon in December, over a year after suffering the first loss of her professional career at the hands of Holly Holm at UFC 193, White announced that in addition to returning for a championship fight with Amanda Nunes at UFC 207, Rousey was looking for a superfight with Cris Cyborg if she defeated Nunes at UFC 207.

While Rousey’s nutritionist maintained that a fight between the two would give Cyborg a significant advantage given that Cyborg ordinarily fights at featherweight in the Invicta banner, Cris Cyborg is doing everything in her power to bait Rousey into a fight.

During a recent interview with TMZ, Cyborg went on to once again put Rousey on blast, saying:

“Of course [she is scared of me]. She knows I [would] kill her. Same thing that happen(ed) with Holly Holm and her will be worse with me. She know[s] this. She know[s] this.

She don’t fight for the belt [the] first time. They gave her the belt and she’s fight(ing in the) UFC, the big promotion.”

“Same way you talk to guys, you have to have the balls. She speak a lot of things about me… and why she don’t go in (the) octagon with me, fight with me? Man, she don’t have (the balls). She don’t have. She don’t have.

And I know – girls, of course she no have (balls)… but when you speak about someone, you have to go, ‘No, f**k that. I’m gonna fight her. Let’s go in the octagon, make this fight happen.’”

While Cyborg only has 2 fights under the UFC banner, the Invicta FC featherweight champion has been extremely dominant in her two Octagon outings despite brutal weight-cuts.

In her most recent appearance in the Octagon, Cyborg defeated Swedish striking standout Lina Lansburg via 2nd round TKO in what was an extremely impressive performance that saw Cyborg showcase not only her spectacular striking, but also her clinch game as well as her ground game.
