It sounds like Conor McGregor is making his way back to training following his professional boxing debut loss to Floyd Mayweather. Despite losing by TKO in the 10th round in August, McGregor scooped up the biggest payday of his career and it showed as McGregor was seen partying up after the fight. With Tony Ferguson the newly crowned UFC interim lightweight champion, UFC President Dana White is looking to put together the UFC lightweight title unification bout together. McGregor’s striking coach Owen Roddy spoke recently on the Talking Brawls podcast and commented on the matchup with Ferguson.

McGregor was first to do so. In his post, he appeared to address Ferguson by using the simple caption “Tony.”

On November 4, in the co-main event of the stacked UFC 217, UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt will attempt to defend his title against his arch rival TJ Dillashaw. While Garbrandt is focused on this monumental showdown with Dillashaw, he is also already looking forward to the future, where he believes lucrative showdowns with champions from other weight classes could exist. In particular, he’s interested in scraps with flyweight champ Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson and lightweight champ Conor McGregor. “I’ll go in there and knock Conor the f— out in boxing,” Garbrandt told ESPN this week. “Let’s be honest. There’s no difference in a southpaw [McGregor’s fighting stance] or orthodox. That guy could come out and fight on his hands for all I give a f—. I would knock him out, and that’s it.”

When it comes to McGregor’s fighting future, there are questions abound, and very little in the way of answers. Yet in the eyes of Artem Lobov, one of McGregor’s main training partners, the answer is pretty clear: McGregor will return to defend his lightweight title against interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson. If you’re a Conor McGregor fan in the United States, and you’re hoping to catch the Irishman’s anticipated Conor McGregor: Notorious documentary in theatres, you’re going to need to clear your calendar on Wednesday, November 8. According to The Hollywood Reporter, that’s the only day the film will be showing in US theatres. The reasons for this ‘special’ one-day-only screening have not been shared by Trafalgar Releasing, the UK film distribution company in charge of the film’s release. The Conor McGregor: Notorious documentary has been assembled with more than four years of footage, which should give fans a very interesting and complete look into the Irishman’s UFC career, which began back in 2013. The film also highlights McGregor’s recent boxing match with undefeated pugilist Floyd Mayweather Jr.

St-Pierre has stated that he wanted to come back for the biggest fights that would get him motivated to compete once again and he felt Bisping was the biggest fight for him in the UFC. Current UFC undisputed lightweight champion Conor McGregor earned the biggest payday of his career in his last competition. McGregor made a crossover into the sport of boxing where he took on Floyd Mayweather for his professional boxing debut. McGregor earned a guaranteed $30 million purse for the fight that he lost in the 10th round by TKO and likely earned somewhere near $100 million with his earnings from the pay-per-view buys, sponsorships, and endorsements from the bout. Since his big money payday, McGregor has been living it up on vacation with no fight announced and the parties have not stopped.

One of the biggest stories to emerge from the buildup of Conor McGregor‘s recent boxing match with Floyd Mayweather Jr. was his beef with Paulie Malignaggi. Malignaggi was originally brought into McGregor’s camp as a training partner, but after feeling as though he’d been unfairly represented by the Irishman and his team, he departed. Since then, Malignaggi has talked ceaseless trash about McGregor, and has even been campaigning for a fight with him. Now, he claims that the talks for this possible showdown with McGregor have begun, as his manager Al Haymon has reportedly reached out to UFC President Dana White.

Since before Conor McGregor stepped into the ring to box Floyd Mayweather, the question on millions of minds was when he was coming back to the UFC and who would he fight. It was looking like finishing the trilogy with Nate Diaz was a high priority, but now it seems like a fight with newly crowned interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson could be in the plans. As of right now, all we have to go off of is a single image that McGregor posted and a weird slideshow in response by Ferguson. Other than that, Dana White has been saying it’s a fight that has to happen. Regardless of how close are far the match-up is, early odds have been released and right now it’s a close fight with Tony Ferguson trailing behind as a slight underdog. There has been some buzz recently about UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor being in talks with the WWE for a big money offer, perhaps for a match at WrestleMania 34 in April of next year. While the UFC, WWE, and McGregor did not make any official statement on if that was the case, UFC President Dana White shut down those rumors during a recent interview with FOX 5 News. The news anchors brought up to White that there was talk of McGregor going to the WWE to wrestle next year.

After Ferguson tapped out Lee in a triangle choke, both men embraced and exchanged words. It wasn’t an easy fight for either of them and both men earned each other’s respect. Kevin Lee continued this respect in his post-fight interviews. Lately, he’s opened up and has said Tony Ferguson deserves to fight Conor McGregor. “[Tony Ferguson versus Conor McGregor] should happen, It should. In any other sport or in any other circumstance or situation, that’s the fight to make happen. While many were expecting “The Notorious” to return to fight in the UFC after making his crossover to the sport of boxing, there is a fresh report coming from The Sun that McGregor is in talks with the WWE for an appearance. According to The Sun, “The Notorious” has been talking with WWE about a “megabucks wrestling match against one of World Wrestling Entertainment’s biggest stars.” The match is reportedly being targeted for a date next year. The April Wrestlemania 34 event taking place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans is a possibility.
