Bryan Battle is looking to make a statement against Ange Loosa on Saturday in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 88.

Battle is on a two-fight winning streak and thought he would get a ranked opponent next. However, when he was offered to fight Loosa, he was excited about the bout as he believes the style matchup makes it an exciting fight.

“I’m at the stage where a lot of the guys I get matched up with I have to look them up. There are guys that are new to the UFC, two or three fights,” Battle said on Just Scrap Radio on BJPENN.com. “Ange had fought AJ so I had watched that fight a lot when I was preparing for AJ. I’ve been a lot more familiar with him, so it is somebody that I think is a lot better than his record shows, a lot better than where he is in the welterweight division. I’m ready to go out and put on a show and make a statement.”

Why Bryan Battle was so excited to fight Ange Loosa at UFC Vegas 88 is because he has never been finished before. With that said, Battle has full confidence he will be the first person to finish Loosa and do so emphatically.

“He hasn’t been stopped ever, so that is something I am really looking forward to being the first person to stop him. Not just stop him, but stop him in an emphatic fashion and leaving no doubt. Leaving no doubt that I need to be on top of cards and need to be fighting primetime talents,” Battle said…

“I don’t think the fight will get out of the second round. It can go a variety of ways, we watched tape, I’ve watched a lot of tape. It might not get out of the first round, after watching his tape I’m pretty confident he will be shooting,” Battle continued. “If he wants to grapple, it is not an easy way out, it is not less dangerous than being on the feet with me. I’m going to come out with heavy pressure and make him chase me and throw big shots.”

If Bryan Battle does get the stoppage win over Ange Loosa at UFC Vegas 88 he hopes a ranked opponent can be next.

“I think I would have been justified to get someone between 15 and 12 in this fight. Mike Malott got Neil Magny and he was only 3-0, I got more wins and more finishes than him,” Battle said.
