UFC welterweight veteran Alex Morono didn’t get the answer from the matchmakers he was looking for after another loss at UFC Vegas 113.

UFC fan favorite Alex Morono suffered another big setback in the cage last Saturday at UFC Vegas 113. In a three-round fight, Morono dropped a unanimous decision loss to former The Ultimate Fighter winner Daniil Donchenko in a main card bout.

Morono is one of the longest tenured welterweights on the UFC roster, defeating the likes of Court McGee, Donald Cerrone and others earlier in his time with the promotion. Despite another big loss at UFC Vegas 113, Morono wanted to be re-signed for one more fight to get a proper sendoff into retirement.

In a recent post on Instagram, Morono called for the UFC to give him a retirement fight before he hangs up the gloves.

“This war horse has some miles on him for d*** sure,” Morono said.

“If this was my last ride, I’ll go out with my head held high. In a perfect world, my next fight will be my last. The UFC has been my home for the last decade. Nowhere I’d rather fight. Nowhere I’d rather retire.

“I’m confident and hopeful they’ll give me one last dance.”

Unfortunately, Morono didn’t get the answer to his public plea that he was looking for.

Alex Morono reportedly cut by UFC just hours after calls for ‘one last dance’

UFC watchdog account UFC Roster Watch reported on Tuesday that Morono was one of several post-event roster cuts following UFC Vegas 113. As of this writing, Morono hasn’t provided any public comment on his split from the promotion.

Morono made his UFC debut at UFC 195, defeating Kyle Noke by split decision. He went on to earn wins in some of the most exciting fights in welterweight history.
