Jake Paul sends message to Jon Jones after ‘Bones’ requests his release from UFC: ‘We’ll get you paid’

Jake Paul is open to working with former UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight champion Jon Jones.
After Jones wasn’t on the White House card, and Dana White claimed it’s due to his bad hips, ‘Bones’ asked for his release. Jones reportedly wants a big payday, and the UFC wasn’t interested in giving it to him.
Following Jones’ request for his UFC release, Paul – who’s promotion MVP – is set to host their first MMA event, is interested in working with the former UFC champion.
“Jon, you’re always welcome to come over to MVP. We’ll get it poppin, and we’ll get you paid what you deserve,” Paul said to Netflix Sports.
With Francis Ngannou set to fight under the MVP banner, perhaps Jake Paul and his promotion can be the ones to book the Ngannou vs. Jones fight. However, the UFC has yet to give Jones his release, and it does seem unlikely they will, so it does seem unlikely Jones will ever fight the MVP banner.
Jon Jones requests release from UFC
Although Jon Jones did retire, there was some hope he would return to the UFC.
Yet, Dana White shot that down, and now Jones is requesting his release from the promotion.
“Hey everyone, I wanted to address Dana White’s comments from this past weekend, because the truth matters to me and the fans,” Jones wrote on X. “Dana, you were heated ab:ut why I’m not on the White House card, but let’s clear something up. My team and I were actually negotiating with the UFC for that fight. Real negotiations. I even came down from my original number, and what was I offered in return ? I was lowballed. Yes, I have arthritis in my hip and it’s painful, but that doesn’t mean I can’t fight. So let me get this straight, if I had accepted the lowball offer, suddenly my hip would be fine. And I’d be on the White House card? That doesn’t make sense.
“I understand business deals fall through sometimes, but going out publicly and saying things that aren’t true isn’t right. After everything I’ve given to the UFC , the years, the title defenses, the fights , hearing that I’m “done” is disappointing. Especially when as recently as Friday UFC was calling me trying to get me on that White House card for a much lower number. If the UFC truly feels like I’m done, then I respectfully ask to be released from my contract today. No more spins, no more games. Thank you to the real fans who know what’s up. Bones out.”
Jon Jones is 28-1 and one NC and is coming off a knockout win over Stipe Miocic to defend his heavyweight title.
