Sean Strickland got the boot from a UFC Freedom 250 adjacent event, and a good friend and training partner of his has offered his viewpoint on the hectic scenario. The referenced fighter is Johnny Eblen, who prepares to run it back for a rematch with Impa Kasanganay at PFL Austin in the coming weeks for interim middleweight hardware.

Eblen fielded several subjects, including this Strickland inquiry, during an interview at the recent PFL San Diego media dayWith headlines abounding regarding the UFC middleweight champion getting booted from that UFC Freedom 250 fan event, when asked what the group chat looks like after something like that happens, Eblen said,

“[laughs] I was just like, what is he doing? I kind of knew he was going to do that. But essentially, I’m just glad that he’s not in any serious trouble, but it’s good. I think it was good. It was good press for him. Him not being able to go to the White House card was kind of weird, but I don’t think he necessarily wanted to go anyway.”

“Because I don’t think after the Epstein files, I think [Strickland] is a little weird when it comes to the White House and Donald Trump and all that stuff. So, it was probably for the better that they didn’t let him go, honestly [laughs]. But I think it’s just very fitting of Sean to show up at the Fan Fest, get in, and then get get escorted out and kicked out. So funny.”

Sean Strickland and the deeper details of his dismissal from UFC Freedom 250

Sean Strickland is the two-time UFC middleweight champ and current reigning kingpin of 185 pounds, and a lot of the build into UFC’s White House card saw him discussing how he was banned from the event. Dana White later quipped that the polarizing American simply was not invited to the card. Strickland showed up to a fan event that was tied to the UFC Freedom 250 event and stirred the pot a bit, as was expected by all, following the rhetoric heading into the event’s proceedings.

With specific information provided by the United States Park Police Public Information Office, which was then subsequently circulated by ESPN, the details on the incident read as follows:

“The unplanned presence of Sean Strickland drew significant attention from attendees, resulting in disorder. Due to concerns for Strickland’s safety and the safety of event patrons, personnel from the U.S. Marshals Service, U.S. Park Police, and other assisting agencies evacuated him safely from the area.”
