Neil Magny extends UFC welterweight record as UFC 330 return booked

UFC welterweight Neil Magny will create some distance between himself and the rest of the pack by extending an impressive record.

One of the most highly anticipated fights of the year features the return of UFC welterweight champion Islam Makhachev against rising contender Ian Machado Garry at UFC 330 in Philadelphia. Despite the hype surrounding Makhachev vs. Garry, another welterweight bout is making headlines for the extension of one of the division’s most impressive records.

38-year-old Neil Magny is one of the most decorated veterans of the UFC welterweight division. A welterweight mainstay since his debut at UFC 157, Magny has earned wins over the likes of Mike Malott, Daniel Rodriguez, and Robbie Lawler in recent years.

After a first-round loss to former Bellator champion Yaroslav Amosov earlier this year, Magny’s back is against the wall once again. But at one of the biggest cards of the year, Magny will extend his UFC welterweight fight record against one of the division’s most dangerous finishers.

Neil Magny set to extend UFC welterweight fight record against Ramiz Brahimaj

As announced on Wednesday, Magny will fight Ramiz Brahimaj (13-6-0) at UFC 330 on August 15th. Magny vs. Brahimaj adds to a growing undercard for the Makhachev vs. Garry showdown.

After an up-and-down start to his UFC tenure, Brahimaj has won three of his last four fights, including recent victories against Austin Vanderford and Mickey Gall. Brahimaj is looking to get back on track following a unanimous decision loss to Punahele Soriano in February.

Magny’s most recent win came against Jake Matthews at UFC Perth earlier this year.

Magny’s fight against Brahimaj will be his 38th UFC welterweight fight, the most in the division’s history. He holds multiple welterweight records, including wins (24) and fight time (7:22:49).

The full UFC 330 card is expected to be finalized in the coming weeks.
