When Matt Mitrione signed his latest Bellator MMA fight agreement, he had no idea who he would be matched up against.

Being the game competitor that he is, “Meathead” signed on the dotted line and awaited the announcement.

Bellator recently released video of Fedor Emelianenko signing his bout agreement with Scott Coker and the official fight announcement between Mitrione and Emelianenko.

St-Pierre’s actions mean a lot as Emelianenko, St-Pierre, and Anderson Silva are often names brought up in many debates on who the greatest mixed martial arts fighter of all time is.

We also get to see Mitrione’s priceless reaction to finding out who his secret opponent was that he signed to fight. It was at this moment that Mitrione found out he was being matched up against Emelianenko and you can see the genuine look of surprise and excitement that the former UFC heavyweight had in him.

Matt Mitrione

Mitrione is riding a two-fight winning streak since fighting with the Bellator promotion and will look to keep the winning streak going as he takes on Emelianenko in surely one of the biggest fights of his life.

Emelianenko is riding a five-fight winning streak dating back to 2011 but had a highly controversial contest in his last fight against Fabio Maldonado at EFN 50 in June of 2016. Emelianenko was awarded a majority decision after nearly being finished in the first round.

Fedor Emelianenko and Matt Mitrione meet in the Bellator cage at Bellator 172 at the SAP Center in San Jose, California on February 18.
