Nurmagomedov’s top protege, Islam Makhachev, recently won the UFC welterweight championship to accomplish a feat that Nurmagomedov couldn’t during his run to the UFC Hall of Fame.

Chimaev won the middleweight belt dominantly against Dricus du Plessis last year at UFC 319.

Former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira moved one step closer to earning another shot at his former belt by earning another championship title. Earlier this month, Oliveira dethroned Max Holloway to win the BMF belt by unanimous decision at UFC 326.
