Hokit, who entered UFC 327 unranked, defeated Blaydes by unanimous decision to remain unbeaten inside the cage.

Joaquin Buckley sees UFC 328 as a must-win scenario. Buckley is set to share the Octagon with Sean Brady inside the Prudential Center in Newark on Saturday. It’s a crucial bout in the welterweight division with two top contenders, each coming off a loss. Buckley was defeated by Kamaru Usman via unanimous decision back in June 2025. Brady’s setback occurred in Nov. 2025 when he was stopped by Michael Morales.

After suffering another first-round loss at UFC Perth, Beneil Dariush is taking a break. Dariush was hoping to rebound after ending 2025 on a 16-second knockout loss to Benoit Saint Denis. “Benny” shared the Octagon with Quillan Salkilld inside the RAC Arena in Perth this past Saturday. Salkilld earned a first-round TKO finish to the delight of the Australian fans.

If Carlos Prates gets the next UFC welterweight title shot, Daniel Cormier doesn’t believe there would be much complaining. Prates was in action this past Saturday against former 170-pound champion Jack Della Maddalena. The bout headlined UFC Perth, so Maddalena had the crowd advantage but that didn’t make a difference at all. Prates scored a third-round TKO victory in emphatic fashion to emerge as a top welterweight contender.

UFC Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall believes he’ll be back to business soon. Aspinall hasn’t been inside the Octagon since he was double poked in the eyes back in Oct. 2025. Aspinall and Ciryl Gane collided in a title fight at UFC 321. Gane had early success before accidentally poking Aspinall in both eyes. The champion couldn’t continue, and the fight was ruled a no contest.

Amanda Nunes didn’t mind being in the UFC 324 co-main event with Kayla Harrison prior to the bout cancellation. Nunes was set to make her comeback after initially retiring in 2023. While one might think Nunes’ comeback fight would headline a pay-per-view, that wasn’t the plan for UFC 324. The interim lightweight title fight between Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblettt got top billing.

Islam Makhachev will have his way with Ian Machado Garry if Sean Brady’s prediction comes to fruition. Makhachev’s first UFC Welterweight Championship defense hasn’t been made official, but many are expecting Garry to get the call for a title bout. One can’t ignore the possibility that Michael Morales or Carlos Prates have impressed UFC officials enough to get that opportunity instead.

The Octagon returned to Australia for today’s UFC Perth event, and four fighters wound up taking home $100k bonuses. This morning’s fight card was headlined by a key welterweight contest featuring former champion Jack Della Maddalena taking on rising division contender Carlos Prates. The highly anticipated showdown resulted in a coming out party for the Brazilian known as ‘The Nightmare’. Prates was able to get the better of Della Maddalena in the standup right from the opening horn, blasting the Aussie with low kicks, knees and heavy punches. After nearly finishing the fight in the late stages of round two, Carlos Prates proceeded to drop ‘JDM’ on three occasions in round three, this before ultimately finishing him off with ground and pound strikes (see that here). The impressive victory puts Prates right into title contention, as he is now 5-1 over his past six fights, with all 5 wins coming by way of KO/TKO.
