Drake Riggs - May 14, 2019

On July 13, UFC Sacramento goes down and it’s beginning to really shape up with four fun fight additions. The UFC revealed on Tuesday that the inaugural flyweight champion, Nicco Montano (4-2) will be making her long-awaited return for the first time since winning the title in December 2017. She would defeat Roxanne Modafferi via unanimous decision to take home the gold.

Drake Riggs - May 14, 2019

On Monday, Neil Magny was suddenly pulled from his UFC Rochester co-main event bout with Vicente Luque this Saturday night due to undisclosed reasons. Well, we now know why. The 20-fight UFC veteran took to Instagram on Tuesday following the news and revealed that his removal from the fight was due to a positive out of competition USADA testing from this past Saturday.

Dan Lambert believes Joanna Jedrzejczyk could get title shot now that Jessica Andrade is champion

Cole Shelton - May 14, 2019

At UFC 237, the strawweight title was on the line as Rose Namajunas was looking to defend the belt against Jessica Andrade. In the end, Andrade captured the belt in wild fashion, knocking Namajunas out with a slam. Before the title changed hands, the widespread belief was that the winner of Tatiana Suarez vs. Nina Ansaroff at UFC 238 would get the winner of Namajunas-Andrade. However, now that Andrade is the champion that plan may change given the fact former champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk has a win over Andrade.

Manager wanted all of TJ Dillashaw's UFC wins overturned, gives update on Cody Garbrandt

Drake Riggs - May 14, 2019

At UFC 235 in March, the former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt went to war with Brazil’s rising contender, Pedro Munhoz. Unfortunately for the Team Alpha Male staple, he would suffer his third consecutive defeat via knockout. Of course, it’s never a fighter’s desire to take damage, especially in the form of a knockout. So when it comes to getting back to fighting, health and timing are critical.

The biggest winners from UFC 237

Mike Straus - May 14, 2019

It always feels special when the Octagon comes back to where it all started. The UFC 237 pay-per-view from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil was no exception. The Brazilian fighters had a rough night in Rio at the Jeunesse Arena. Eight Brazilian fighters suffered losses over the weekend, but six Brazilians picked up wins. None were bigger than Jessica Andrade’s slam knockout of Rose Namajunas to become the new strawweight champion of the world.

Jon Jones makes prediction for Daniel Cormier vs. Stipe Miocic rematch

Tom Taylor - May 14, 2019

Daniel Cormier will attempt his second defense of the UFC heavyweight title at UFC 241, as he takes on the man he beat to win that title, former champ Stipe Miocic. Jon Jones, inarguably the fiercest rival of Cormier’s career, expects the champion to defeat Miocic once again — though perhaps not quite as easily. In fact, Jones has quite a bit of praise for his arch rival.

Anderson Silva escapes UFC 237 with minor injuries

Tom Taylor - May 14, 2019

As Anderson Silva collapsed to the ground in the UFC 237 co-main main event, clutching his knee in pain, we all experienced terrifying flashbacks to his 2013 loss to Chris Weidman. At best, it looked as though Silva’s ligaments had been hacked to pieces by Jared Cannonier’s crippling leg kicks. Yet according to a report from MMA Fighting, which cites sources close to Anderson Silva, the former middleweight champ did not sustain any serious injuries in his UFC 237 loss to Cannonier.

Duke Roufus has an interesting strategy to prepare Anthony Pettis for Nate Diaz

Tom Taylor - May 14, 2019

When Anthony Pettis steps into the cage with Nate Diaz at UFC 241, he’ll have to worry about his opponent’s incredible grappling skill, his crisp boxing, and his bottomless gas tank. Yet he’ll also have to be concerned with a much more intangible factor: Diaz’s trash talk. Nate Diaz and his brother Nick are both infamous for their habit of talking trash to their opponents mid-fight. In an apparent grudge match like this fight with Pettis, the trash talk will almost certainly fly inside the Octagon.

Anthony Pettis says he was offered Conor McGregor fight before Nate Diaz

Tom Taylor - May 14, 2019

Former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis is expected to return to the Octagon at UFC 241, where he’ll take on a big name in Nate Diaz. From the sounds of it, however, Pettis was first offered the chance to fight the biggest name in MMA: Conor McGregor. Pettis dropped this bit of information on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show on Monday.

Alex Volkanovski hospitalized with blood infection in Chile

Tom Taylor - May 14, 2019

Yesterday afternoon, news surfaced that the UFC is targeting a featherweight title fight between Max Holloway and Frankie Edgar for UFC 240 in July. The widespread reaction to this news is that top featherweight contender Alex Volkanovski, who just defeated Jose Aldo at UFC 237, is being snubbed. As it turns out, this is probably the least of the Australian’s contenders worries at present.

UFC 241 | Stipe Miocic annoyed by 'idiot' Daniel Cormier, shocked he got rematch

Drake Riggs - May 13, 2019

It’s happening. Former UFC heavyweight king, Stipe Miocic will be getting his rematch at UFC 241. The Cleveland, Ohio native last fought in July 2018 when he and the then light heavyweight champion, Daniel Cormier met in a super fight of epic proportions. Unfortunately, the longest reigning UFC heavyweight champion in promotional history would find himself on the wrong end of the fight result when Cormier knocked him out in the very first round.

Drake Riggs - May 13, 2019

MMA Junkie has confirmed that one half of the evening’s planned welterweight co-main event, Neil Magny, has been forced out of the bout for undisclosed reasons. He was set to take on rising Brazilian contender, Vicente Luque. The UFC is now actively seeking a late replacement.
