Urijah Faber: I'm 100% done with fighting

Earlier this month, MMA veteran Urijah Faber stepped into the Octagon for the final time on the main card of ‘UFC Fight Night: Sacramento’ where he fought fellow MMA veteran Brad Pickett. The win was certainly a dominant one for Faber, as he dropped Pickett in the very first round, then proceeding to win the next two rounds decisively en route to a unanimous decision win in his final MMA fight. With the win, Faber’s professional MMA record advanced to 34-10 over the course of thirteen years of fighting professionally.

The curtains have now closed on the hall of fame worthy career of Urijah Faber. The former World Extreme Cagefighting featherweight champ partook in the final fight of his career on the main card of Saturday’s UFC on Fox 22, where he defeated England’s Brad Pickett by unanimous decision. Though Faber has plenty on the go with which to support himself in his post-fighting life, he was compensated quite well for the final fight of his career. He will not go hungry any time soon, having earned more than any other fighter on the UFC on Fox 22 bill with a payday of $320,000.

On the main card of UFC 203, Jimmie Rivera earned a unanimous decision win over Urijah Faber, becoming the first bantamweight to defeat the long-time contender in a three-round, non-title fight. The decision win goes down as the biggest of the 27-year-old prospect’s career, and is likely to have earned him a spot deep inside the bantamweight division’s top-10 rankings. Unfortunately, Rivera did not escape the encounter unscathed. In the third round of the fight, the Puerto Rican fighter found himself on the receiving end of a nasty eye-poke, which forced a momentary break in the action. And though he was ultimately able to continue fighting to the final bell, Rivera has since revealed the extent of the damage caused by Faber’s eye-poke.
