PHOTO | Brian Ortega reveals Wolverine-like healing skills post-UFC 231

At UFC 231 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, one of the most highly anticipated matchups in recent memory took place as two men battled over the UFC featherweight crown.

Brian Ortega

To say that Brian Ortega took some damage in that fight against Max Holloway would be a bit of an understatement. But you wouldn’t know it just by looking at him today.

Ortega and Holloway went to war for four rounds on December 8 before the doctors came in to call a halt to the action.

Although Ortega was able to find moments of success, they came in much more of an abundance for the champion Holloway as he would end up setting the UFC record for most significant strikes landed in a single bout. Which essentially led to the calling of the fight.

Brian Ortega’s toughness was something that could not be denied and as seen on his latest Instagram story, he continues to show that he may not be human after all…

For Ortega, the loss to Holloway was the first and only of his 16-fight career.

He came into the fight riding a very impressive six-fight winning streak within the UFC that consisted of finishes over all six of those opponents. Some of the names on that list included the likes of Cub Swanson, Renato “Moicano” Carneiro, Clay Guida, Diego Brandao, Thiago Tavares, and former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar.

Still, at just age 27, it wouldn’t at all be surprising to see the BJJ phenom come back from this stronger than ever and fight for the title again one day. I mean, prior to the fight he and Holloway both agreed that this probably wouldn’t be their last time meeting inside the Octagon.

If a rematch happens down the line, surely no one would be opposed to it either.
