Michael Page reveals upcoming fight is last on his UFC deal: ‘Make them want me to come back’

Michael Page is set to fight out his UFC deal.

Page is set to return at UFC Paris on September 5 against Nursulton Ruziboev in a fun middleweight fight. Page has bounced between welterweight and middleweight in the UFC, as he has said he just wants to fight. Despite being a high-profile signing, he hasn’t gotten a major push and now is set to fight out his deal.

“Yeah (this is the last fight on my deal). … I don’t want it to be (my last UFC fight),” Page said to Ariel Helwani. “I just want to push for bigger fights. My goal is to get a belt, and I still feel more than capable. I know I can do it. I would like to get an extension, but get the UFC on the side that I want big names, and a rough idea of how I would get to that belt.”

As Page has said, he wants to be a world champion, but he isn’t sure if these fights are getting him in the right direction.

Although Page is set to fight out his deal, he said there haven’t been any talks to re-sign before UFC Paris. Yet, he said he plans to put on a

“I don’t wanna get too stressed about the politics and everything. Let me go in there, put on a performance, make them want me to come back and do it again,” Page said.

Page is 4-1 in the UFC and has won three straight fights. He’s coming off a decision win over Sam Patterson at welterweight, after back-to-back wins over Jared Cannonier and Shara Magomedov at middleweight.

If Page is going to go on a title run, he will have to decide if it’s at welterweight or middleweight. But, before that can happen, he will need to be re-signed, which he isn’t sure will happen.
