Paddy Pimblett shares new update on weight gain following UFC 324 loss: ‘I’m doing all right’

Paddy Pimblett isn’t packing on the pounds as much as people might think following UFC 324.
“The Baddy” hasn’t been shy in admitting he likes to indulge after each of his fights. Pimblett said he gained a whopping 42 pounds just one week after his UFC 314 victory over Michael Chandler. Pimblett always gets himself in shape for his bouts, but perhaps he’s dialing back on his post-fight routine.
In a new video posted on his YouTube channel, Pimblett revealed his current weight close to a month after his unanimous decision loss to Gaethje (via MMAFighting).
“I weighed myself this morning, I was only 86kgs (190 pounds),” Pimblett said. “F*cking sound for me. I’ve been at like 90 something at this stage before. I’ve been eating well.”
Pimblett believes that he has actually been able to avoid letting himself get carried away this go-around.
“I know the title says I got fat again but I’m not that fat,” Pimblett said. “I’m actually all right. Like 86 kilos, which is sound. I’m doing all right.
“I’m not like America fat where I’m like 94, 95 kilos (210 pounds). We’re doing good. We’re doing all right.”
Pimblett was hoping to capture the interim UFC Lightweight Championship when he faced Gaethje on Jan. 24. This would’ve guaranteed a title unification bout against Ilia Topuria. Both “The Baddy” and Topuria have been feuding for years, but they’ve yet to share the Octagon.
That fight will have to wait a bit longer. While Pimblett showcased durability in the headliner for UFC’s debut on Paramount+, he was battered throughout the fight and it was clear that “The Highlight” was the right decision made by the judges.
