Controversial UFC legend Jon Jones has given some more thoughts on Dustin Poirier’s recent drunken arrest incident.

As the majority of fans know, Dustin Poirier was recently arrested for an incident that involved him being drunk in public. He got into a verbal altercation with a police officer, and it even got to the point where he was threatening to take him on in a fight.

Alas, calmer heads prevailed, and Poirier ended the situation amicably. He did, however, come out and admit that he was currently going through a tough time, and given how many times he’s spoken about his post-retirement struggles, it does paint a logical picture.

In a recent interview, Jon Jones had some more things to say to Poirier after this ordeal.

Jones has some advice for Poirier

“I hope that Dustin keeps his head high, gets back on his horse, and realizes that at the end of the day, news is news,” Jones said. “Some people say there’s no such thing as bad press. I disagree with that, but press is press. The whole world is talking about him right now.

“He didn’t hurt anybody. He was drunk, we’ve all been drunk. Alcohol makes you do silly things.”

“It’s important for him to forgive himself and just keep moving forward,” Jones told Red Corner MMA. “At the end of the day, no one really cares. No one really cares.”
