Michael Chiesa thinks Conor McGregor vs Justin Gaethje could compete with White House event

Former UFC fighter Michael Chiesa has high hopes for how successful a Conor McGregor vs Justin Gaethje fight could be.
In the main event of UFC 329, Conor McGregor will go head to head with Max Holloway. The two will face off at welterweight, and although Holloway is seen as the favorite given his overall ability and activity, ‘Notorious’ has far more experience when it comes to competing at 170 pounds.
While there are no guarantees, some have wondered whether or not McGregor could earn a shot at UFC lightweight champion Justin Gaethje with a victory. It may not make a whole lot of sense in the mind of mixed martial arts purists, but there’s a lot of money on the table with a bout like that.
In a recent interview, Michael Chiesa weighed in on the possibility of Gaethje vs McGregor.
Chiesa on McGregor vs Gaethje’s potential
“Let’s say Conor McGregor beats Max Holloway, what better fight is there to do right now from a viewing standpoint?” Chiesa said during a recent appearance on The Bohnfire podcast with MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn.
“Conor McGregor vs. Justin Gaethje, if Conor beats Max Holloway, does it get much bigger than that right now? That is the matchup to make in terms of bringing in eyes.
“It’s the only thing that can compete with the White House, is Gaethje and Conor,” he added.

There are certainly a few hurdles to get over before we arrive at this conclusion, mainly in the form of Conor attempting to get through Max. Still, if this comes to fruition, it could well turn out to be one of the most-watched UFC fights of all time.
