Paddy Pimblett feels he’s gotten more praise for UFC 324 loss than any of his wins: ‘It’s crazy’

Paddy Pimblett is feeling more love in his lone UFC loss than he has for his seven wins under the promotion.
Pimblett competed for the interim UFC Lightweight Championship back in January. Standing across from “The Baddy” was Justin Gaethje. The two delivered fireworks for UFC’s debut on Paramount+. Ultimately, it was Gaethje who found more success on his way to a unanimous decision victory.
Pimblett filmed himself rewatching the fight for his YouTube channel. “The Baddy” had already seen the bout once, but he wanted to share his thoughts on a second watch. Pimblett admitted that he didn’t expect to get as much praise as he has in defeat.
“Even though I lost, lad, it’s a very entertaining fight to watch,” Pimblett said. “Everyone’s been telling me how entertaining it was and how much they like the fight and the heart I showed and all that. It’s crazy because I feel like I’m getting more praise for losing this fight than all seven UFC wins.”
Pimblett recently shared that he didn’t suffer any major injuries during the fight with Gaethje. He said the worst of the damage was a scratched cornea. “The Baddy” anticipates a summer return to the Octagon.
While Pimblett had been hoping to settle his beef with UFC Lightweight Champion Ilia Topuria, he’ll have to wait another time. The former Cage Warriors featherweight titleholder will need to get back to his winning ways if he expects to be matched with Topuria anytime soon.
Topuria and Gaethje are now due for a title unification bout. While there is no word on a timeframe for the bout, Topuria has seemingly ended his hiatus after getting some personal issues settled.
