Dana White disagrees with notion that he doesn’t care about UFC anymore: ‘It’s kind of a weird thing’

Dana White is aware that some fans and even media members don’t believe he cares about UFC as much as he once did.
Those who feel White’s interest in the promotion he helped turn into an MMA juggernaut has waned argue that the UFC boss seems to have turned his attention to other projects. At the moment, White is preparing for Friday’s launch of Zuffa Boxing at the Meta APEX. It’s no secret that White’s other passions involve gambling, bull riding, and his Power Slap promotion.
During an interview with the Sports Business Journal, White responded to that notion and he believes it stems from a recent chat he had with a top news outlet.
“So I did one interview with CBS and I didn’t answer the question the way they thought I should answer the question, so I don’t care about the UFC anymore? Well, I’ll tell you what, here’s my answer: Come see what we do in 2026 going into 2027, and you will find out that I care very much about the UFC — and Zuffa Boxing and Power Slap and Thrill One and the Dodge/[Ram] show that I just launched,” White said.
White also mentioned that his role changed when he was promoted from the UFC president to the CEO.
“Honestly, when I became the CEO of the company, my job description has changed a little bit. I’m taking on more and I don’t know what they saw in the CBS interview — I don’t even know how to answer that question. It’s weird — one interview, one question in the interview, to think [from this that] I don’t care about the UFC anymore. It’s kind of a weird thing.”
Saturday will be a big night for UFC, as it’ll be the promotion’s debut on Paramount+. The debut will see Paddy Pimblett and Justin Gaethje collide with the interim UFC Lightweight Championship at stake.
