Arman Tsarukyan teases featherweight move following Movsar Evloev’s UFC London win

Arman Tsarukyan turned a lot of heads with his social media post following UFC London.
This past Saturday’s event was headlined by a pivotal featherweight clash between Movsar Evloev and Lerone Murphy. After five rounds of action, Evloev scored the majority decision win.
Tsarukyan took to his Threads account with an interesting poll teasing a move down to 145 pounds.
“UFC fans, is it time for me to save the featherweight division?,” Tsarukyan wrote.
This isn’t the first time “Ahalkalakets” has hinted at changing his weight class. The No. 2-ranked UFC lightweight recently appeared on the Aviator YouTube channel, and he took aim at reigning featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski (via Bloody Elbow).
“Yes, it makes sense,” Tsarukyan said. “I’ll beat Volk and then I’ll hire him as my chef because when I beat him, he’s going to retire and he’s gotta do something and I can pay good money for him, to have a good chef like him.”
Tsarukyan’s last MMA bout took place back in Nov. 2025 when he submitted Dan Hooker at UFC Qatar. He has been staying busy outside of the Octagon by participating in submission grappling and freestyle wrestling matches.
The top 155-pounder is set for a RAF 7 rematch against Georgio Poullas on Saturday. Their first encounter ended in a brawl, so time will tell if cooler heads will prevail this go-around.
As for Tsarukyan’s UFC run, “Ahalkalakets” hasn’t exactly found himself in the good good graces of company CEO Dana White. The UFC boss has told reporters that Tsarukyan has caused issues behind the scenes, which has prevented him from being elevated to a championship fight.
Tsarukyan was set to challenge Islam Makhachev for the UFC Lightweight Championship in Jan. 2025. He ended up pulling out of the fight hours before the weigh-ins due to an injury.
