Dana White disagrees with fans who think Movsar Evloev’s UFC London win was controversial

Dana White doesn’t believe UFC London ended in controversial fashion.
This past Saturday’s event inside The O2 Arena in London concluded with a featherweight battle. Movsar Evloev and Lerone Murphy shared the Octagon with possible title implications at stake. Despite having a point deducted for multiple accidental fouls, Evloev scored the majority decision victory.
Some have disagreed with the decision, believing that Murphy should’ve had his hand raised. During the UFC London post-fight press conference, White challenged anyone who feels there was an actual controversy over the result (h/t MMAMania).
“What was the controversy?” White said. “Well, I think one of the judges probably had it a draw — but yeah, I don’t think there was any controversy.”
As far as what’s next for Evloev, White wouldn’t commit to a title fight just yet. He did admit that it’s a possibility.
“Possibly, yeah,” White said. “I’m not even thinking about that. The fight just ended. But yeah, he’s obviously in a good position.”
The reigning featherweight champion is Alexander Volkanovski, who said he was impressed by Evloev’s performance during the UFC on Paramount+ post-fight show.
“I don’t think we all expected Movsar to just want to stand with Lerone,” Volkanovski said. “Whether that was something that he felt he had to do to just so he can guarantee himself a title shot, I’m not too sure. But you could see he was a lot stronger when he wanted to take it down, and then was able to out-do him on the feet. So for me, it’s quite impressive, to be honest. Fair play to him. He’s 20-0 now, and I guess he’s next.”
Another rising contender who has pushed for a title opportunity is Jean Silva. It’s easy to argue that Evloev has the more impressive resume, but Silva represents the exciting style and personality that UFC matchmakers prefer these days.
