Tim Kennedy hasn’t fought since his controversial 3rd round TKO loss to Yoel Romero at UFC 178 back in 2014, however at the end of last year Kennedy announced that he would be returning to the Octagon, and gunning for PED users and TRT abusers. While Kennedy was initially lobbying for a fight with Vitor Belfort, the UFC decided to book Belfort vs. Jacare in what many assume to be a #1 contender fight.

Monday afternoon Bellator MMA announced arguably their biggest signing in promotional history. Former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson shocked MMA fans as it was revealed that he will be leaving the UFC and had signed with Bellator MMA. Henderson was riding a 2-fight win streak in the UFC that saw him submit Brandon Thatch and most recently pick up a split decision win over Jorge Masvidal in South Korea. The 2-fight win streak was in wake of Henderson going on a 2-fight losing streak that saw him get KO’d by Rafael dos Anjos, and lose a controversial decision to Donald Cerrone.

This past weekend ‘Super’ Sage Northcutt lost his first professional fight as he was submitted by Bryan Barberena in the 2nd round of their UFC on FOX 18 scrap. While Northcutt has remained optimistic and gracious since receiving his first taste of defeat, many criticized the young fighter unfairly. Despite that, Northcutt has managed to keep his head up and look to make changes that will positively impact his career. He spoke on The MMA Hour to discuss the biggest change, which will be training full-time at Tristar.

It was a tough pill to swallow for Ryan Bader. After campaigning hard for a shot at the UFC light heavyweight title on a five-fight win streak, Bader was put to the test before getting a title fight and met the hard-hitting Anthony Johnson in the main event of UFC on FOX 18 on Saturday night. After a failed shot in for a takedown by Bader, Johnson was able to control Bader on the ground and secured the mount position and poured on heavy shots causing referee Keith Peterson to stop the bout at 1:26 of the opening round.

Looks like Fedor Emelianenko is back at it teasing the UFC and the fans about a potential signing with the UFC. “The Last Emperor” recently fought at Rizin Fighting Federation against Singh Jaideep at the NYE event last year. “I’m open to all organizations – said Emelianenko told reporters. – If you have any suggestions, we look at all of them. In this respect, we like to work with Rizin – contracts are not exclusive. Regarding M1 big question. Rather, perhaps my appearance in the UFC, than in M1. ”
