MMA pioneer John Lewis has some big plans in Hollywood in the coming year. With two films going into production this year, Lewis is going to be quite busy bringing martial arts action to the big screen.
Above you can see the teaser for the “THE TOWER: Shepherd’s Blade” which centers around 14 elite fighters who wake up behind bars, and are forced to fight their way through a tower while attempting to regain their memories as part of a government experiment.
For the film Lewis brought in several high-profile team members including casting director Anne McCarthy, who was the casting director for Fast 7, Riddick, The Conjuring, and several other big-box films. In addition, Garrett Warren has been brought on as the 2nd Unit Director and Stunt Coordinator. Warren has worked on movies such as Avatar, the Transformers franchise, X-Men, Divergent, and numerous others. In addition, Brian Sipe of Gamut Studios, who has worked on the Star Trek franchise, the Terminator franchise, the Twilight saga, and many more, has been brought on as the special effects director.
The film shoots in 2016 and will be produced by JLE Cinema Group and Chasing Butterflies with John Lewis and A.J. Perez as co-producers, and the script being written by John Lewis and Cheyenne Buchanan.
