While former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre hasn’t competed inside the Octagon since he defeated Johny Hendricks via split decision at UFC 167 two and a half years ago, talks of GSP returning have remained consistent. Leading up to UFC 196 this past Saturday, MMA fans wondered if GSP could return for a superfight at UFC 200 with Conor McGregor, if he were to defeat Nate Diaz in the main event. Ultimately, as everyone knows by now, Diaz submitted McGregor in the 2nd round of their welterweight scrap.

The bookies as of late have had it right in who is the favorite and Rousey comes in big. The fight is not official as of yet but that doesn’t stop the bookies from getting a jump on the action. Miesha Tate is the newly crowned champ and Ronda Rousey just lost the belt to  Holly Holm. Of course Holly Holm lost the belt to Tate last weekend at UFC 196. Currently the odds look like this.

Leading up to UFC 196, there was much speculation as to a potential fight between Conor McGregor and Robbie Lawler at UFC 200 if McGregor were to defeat Nate Diaz at UFC 196. Ultimately, as everyone knows by now, Diaz submitted McGregor in the 2nd round of their welterweight scrap. Following the bout, McGregor revealed that he plans to go back down to featherweight to defend his championship. That of course has led to a slew of talk regarding who McGregor should defend his championship against.

The Frankie Edgar title shot campaign continued following UFC 196, where Conor McGregor was submitted by Nate Diaz in the main event. Following the loss, McGregor stated that he plans to drop back down to featherweight to defend his championship belt. This opened the flood-gates for discussion regarding who would get the first crack at McGregor’s featherweight championship. While some want to see McGregor vs. Aldo II, Frankie Edgar wants the title shot that was promised to him after he knocked out Chad Mendes at the TUF 22 finale back in December.

UFC President Dana White has stated on numerous occasions that Cris Cyborg will not fight in the UFC because journalists would have a “field day” at the UFC’s expense if she were to fail a drug test. However, with that being said, White also stated that we would never see women competing in the sport, and last Saturday at UFC 196, a women’s bantamweight title fight headlined the event as Miesha Tate won the title by submitting Holly Holm.

It is a night and day situation to what the Diaz brothers grew up around as Nate revealed that he used to go to jiu-jitsu classes only because some older guys training at the gym would buy him food after class.

Nate Diaz revealed after his bout with Conor McGregor that he was not training very hard before he got the call to fight “The Notorious.” In fact, Diaz was on a yacht in Cabo San Lucas hanging out with friends taking shots of tequila. Damian Gonzalez, a pro triathlete and conditioning coach for the Diaz brothers was worried about Nate’s conditioning going into the five-round fight with the UFC featherweight champion and says Nate was worried himself, according to MMA Junkie.

Mixed martial arts veteran Chris Leben (22-11 MMA) was planning on coming out of retirement to fight for the Bellator MMA promotion. Sadly that is no longer the case, as MMAJunkie is reporting that “The Crippler” has been diagnosed with a severe medical condition that has left Chris with just 18 percent of normal blood flow to his heart.

UFC President Dana White has been filming his “Lookin For A Fight” show alongside former UFC champion Matt Serra and Nick The Tooth. The show has seen several fighters earn a shot inside the Octagon, including Mickey Gall and Sage Northcutt.

UFC strawweight star Paige VanZant will be looking to knockout competition in a new realm. “12 Gauge” will be joining a star-studded cast on season 22 of “Dancing with the Stars.” The ABC show series is scheduled to start March 21st and will air on ABC. Other celebrities appearing on season 22 include Super Bowl champion Von Miller, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown and “Fuller House” star Jodie Sweetin.

The world has seen a new side to Conor McGregor following his first loss in the UFC at the hands of UFC veteran Nate Diaz. McGregor was very humble in his interviews after the fight and said that he was “humble in victory or defeat.” According to Bloody Elbow, McGregor told ESPN’s Todd Grisham that he would still be undefeated in the UFC, and would be a two-weight UFC champion.
