Nate Diaz stunned the world but didn’t surprise himself when he beat Conor McGregor at UFC 196. Now Diaz and McGregor are set to headline UFC 200 in a rematch that Diaz says was a gift to McGregor from the UFC. Former featherweight champion Jose Aldo spoke with FOX Sports on the rematch that is messing with the contenders in the featherweight division.

The MMA community lost their minds when Rafael dos Anjos pulled out of the scheduled superfight with Conor McGregor back in February. Nate Diaz then shook things up when he was announced as the late-replacement for dos Anjos and further upset a lot of people when he submitted McGregor at UFC 196. Now Diaz and McGregor will face off in a non-title welterweight rematch at the historic UFC 200 event in July. While initial reports were released that the two were going to be fighting at UFC 200 in the welterweight rematch, Diaz had said that he wanted the fight at 155 so that Conor McGregor would not have any excuses if he lost the rematch.

The UFC recently announced that former featherweight champion Jose Aldo will fight former lightweight title holder Frankie Edgar for a second time at July’s blockbuster UFC 200 pay-per-view event. Officials added that the Aldo vs. Edgar rematch will be for the promotions interim featherweight title.

For a brief period, there was fear that Jon Jones recent traffic incident would force him out of his UFC 197 light heavyweight title fight with Daniel Cormier on April 23rd. Thursday morning however, Jones appeared in front of a judge, who ordered him to attend anger management training, driver improvement courses, and get permission from his probation officer before getting behind the wheel of a car.

Recently it was announced that the UFC had booked Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz II for the main event of UFC 200, and Jose Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar for an interim featherweight fight. The UFC then posted a photo counting down the days to UFC 200, using a photo of Georges St. Pierre, leading many to wonder if GSP would inevitably be returning to the Octagon.

The two friends are both living legends and have said they look at one another in a brotherly type of way.
