Report: CM Punk More Than Doubled UFC 203's PPV Revenue
Tom Taylor - September 13, 2016
Last Saturday, on the main card of UFC 203, CM Punk fell short in his long-awaited UFC debut, tapping out to Mickey Gall rear-naked choke just 2:14 into the first round. From a competitive vantage point his MMA foray was a pretty significant failure. From a fiscal perspective, however, Punk’s UFC debut is looking like it could have been a massive success – and not just because he made bank with a disclosed purse of $500,000. It’s also looking like Punk’s presence on UFC 203’s main card may have driven pay-per-view sales far beyond most estimates.

Alexander Gustafsson: Jones doesn't deserve immediate title shot
bjpenndotcom - September 13, 2016
While Jon Jones is busy trying to clear up the messy fallout from UFC 200, two-time title challenger Alexander Gustafsson believes it would not be fair to give ‘Bones’ an immediate rematch once he sorts out his situation with USADA. Jones tested positive for two banned substances in a June 16 out-of-competition drug test conducted by USADA, forcing the UFC to remove him from his scheduled UFC 200 rematch with Daniel Cormier just days before the event.
Demetrious Johnson is Ready to Start Calling for "Money Fights"
Tom Taylor - September 13, 2016
Over the last few months, several UFC champions have caught flack for calling for money fights – that is, the fights that they believe will make them the most money, rather than the ones that make the most sense from a rankings standpoint. The most high-profile fighter to chase these fights is, of course, UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor, who has contested his last two fights in the welterweight division, raking in multiple millions for a pair of grudge matches with Nate Diaz. Then there’s welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, who has been chasing lucrative fights with Georges St-Pierre and Nick Diaz, while lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez is after a bout with Conor McGregor, and bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz has expressed interest in a super fight with interim featherweight champion Jose Aldo.
