Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva has earned the unwanted distinction of being the second most knocked down fighter in history, according to Fightnomics. The Brazilian heavyweight has been on a downward slide ever since his knockout wins over Travis Browne and Alistair Overeem almost four years ago. ‘Bigfoot’ (19-9) has been knocked out five times since 2013, with every one of his losses coming by way of KO.

Coming off of his fourth first-round knockout last weekend and fifth win in a row, UFC middleweight contender Derek Brunson is already being scheduled for his next fight. Following his TKO over Uriah Hall last Saturday, Brunson (16-3) is in talks for a fight down under with Robert Whittaker at UFC Fight Night 101 in Melbourne on November 27.

After two brutal wars with ‘Ruthless’ Robbie Lawler, you would think that Rory would have some trepidation over another dogfight. But of course none of that matters to MacDonald, who took to Twitter on Wednesday to request a no holds barred fight in Bellator, one with no judges or weight classes or any regard for safety whatsoever.

Earlier this month in Cleveland Ohio, former WWE champion CM Punk made his highly anticipated UFC debut on the main card of UFC 203. The fight, which took place nearly 2 years after Punk was signed to the UFC, was an extremely short one that saw Gall dominate the fight from bell to bell. Following the fight, the MMA community appeared to be torn on the matter. While some praised Punk for having the guts to step into the Octagon at 37 years old without having any MMA experience, others criticized the Chicago native, as well as the UFC, for the situation.

Earlier in the week, it was reported that ‘Cyborg’ weighed in at 165 pounds for her 140 pound catch-weight fight with Lina Lansberg. Now just 24 hours away from officially weighing-in, MMA insider Ariel Helwani reports that ‘Cyborg’ is currently weighing in at 150 pounds with ten more pounds left to shed.

Conor McGregor found what he was looking for with his redemption win over Nate Diaz at UFC 202. McGregor was able to pick up a majority decision victory after five rounds of mixed martial arts fighting in the Octagon on August 20 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Following UFC 202, undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather put an end to all the talks of the heavily rumored boxing match with McGregor.

With the historic UFC 205 looking like it is having a hard time being put together, New Jersey’s Frankie Edgar announced his spot at UFC 205. “The Answer” posted a promotional piece featuring a featherweight bout between Jeremy Stephens and himself, set for November 12 at Madison Square Garden. Edgar captioned his post with excitement saying, “Boom! MSG Let’s gooooo! #UFC205”

Later this year, the UFC will have its historic inaugural event in New York when they hit the Madison Square Garden for UFC 205 on November 12th. The event is expected to play host to several high profile matchups including at least one title fight. While there has been no official word yet on a fight which was expected to be between Conor McGregor and Eddie Alvarez, UFC President Dana White has recently stated that it will be Khabib Nurmagomedov who gets the title shot against Alvarez.

The confusion over Eddie Alvarez’s next fight appears to be over, at least for now. First, Eddie Alvarez was set to defend his newly-won 155 pound belt against featherweight champion Conor McGregor at UFC 205 in New York City. Now, it appears Alvarez will take on Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 206 in Toronto instead.

Former Strikeforce lightweight champion Josh Thomson was a recent guest on BJPENN.com’s Rapid Fire segment where he discussed a number of different topics including the potential lightweight title fight between Conor McGregor and Eddie Alvarez which is expected to headline UFC 205 in New York this November. Thomson, who is the only fighter to score a TKO victory over Nate Diaz, doesn’t believe that the Irish superstar has earned his shot at the lightweight title, this after scoring a narrow majority decision victory over the Stockton Slugger.

She’ll do so in her home country of Brazil, opposite Swedish muay thai specialist Lina Lansberg. The two will meet at a catchweight of 140 lbs. Unfortunately, Cyborg’s cut down to 140 has turned into an absolute nightmare. The Brazilian striker claims to have started her camp at a whopping 175 lbs, and was still above the 165 lb. mark earlier this week. She’s also been taking birth control under the advice of respected nutritionist George Lockhart – though she has voiced quite a bit of skepticism about this strange weight management regimen.

Another New Yorker has been pulled from the UFC’s first foray to the Empire State. Long Islander Gian Villante, who trains out of Serra-Longo’s Acadamy with former middleweight champion Chris Weidman, will no longer be facing Marcos Rogerio de Lima at UFC 205 in Madison Square Garden this November. Villante, 31, joins Al Iaquinta and other New York natives who will not be competing on the historic card for one reason or another. Iaquinta was originally linked to a lightweight bout with Thiago Alves for UFC 205, but revealed on Monday that he never signed the fight agreement due to contract and bonus-related issues with the promotion.
