Irish publication suggests Conor McGregor is in talks to appear on Game of Thrones

Earlier this month, in the main event of UFC 205, Ireland’s Conor McGregor knocked out Eddie Alvarez to win the UFC lightweight title. Given that he still owned the organization’s featherweight title at the time of this win, this made him the first fighter in UFC history to hold titles in two weight classes simultaneously. With this history making win in the books, McGregor has opted to take some time away from the sport to start a family with long-time girlfriend Dee Devlin. According to a report from the Irish publication The Sunday Life, however, the 28-year-old is staying plenty busy during his hiatus from fighting.

Though he’s called for a comeback fight with our very own BJ Penn, it was announced yesterday that Jung will instead return to square off with Dennis Bermudez in the main event of UFC Fight Night 104 which takes place Super Bowl weekend. Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com was first to report that the Bermudez vs. Jung fight was in the works.

After three-rounds of back and forth action, Bruce Buffer stepped in to the octagon and announced that Benavidez had been awarded the victory via split-decision.

On Saturday night, the UFC returned to Las Vegas, Nevada with the finale of the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter. The card produced a handful of excellent fights, as Demetrious Johnson and Tim Elliot entertained in the main event, Joseph Benavidez and Henry Cejudo thrilled in the co-main event, and Ion Cutelaba and Jared Cannonier delivered a thriller earlier on the main card. The card also produced one of the strangest finishes in UFC history. This finish occurred in the fourth bout of the main card, when Jorge Masvidal and Jake Ellenberger duked it out at welterweight.

Last night, the UFC returned to glimmering Las Vegas, Nevada with the finale of the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter. The card was headlined by a flyweight title fight between dominant champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson, and the unheralded Tim Elliott, who won the latest season of the Ultimate Fighter. At the moment, purses for this 12-fight card have not been disclosed. We do, however, know how much the card’s 24 fighters took home through the UFC’s outfitting deal with sports apparel giant Reebok.

It’s no secret that former strawweight champion Carla Esparza and former strawweight title challenger Claudia Gadelha aren’t big fans of one another. Having been scheduled to fight to no avail several times in the past, the two talented fighters have plenty of unfinished business, and probably won’t stop beefing till they get their hands on each other in the cage. Their latest quarrel occurred on Instagram. This time around, Gadelha was the instigator, lambasting Esparza for trying to sell her motorcycle to cover her medical bills (though she may not actually have to do so).

Until just days ago, Pride legends Wanderlei Silva and Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic were scheduled to go at it for a third time under the Rizin banner this December. Regrettably, Silva was forced to bow out of this planned trilogy fight with an injury. This news did not go over well with Cro Cop. After learning of Silva’s injury, the Croatian kickboxer took to social media to burn Silva with a fiery tirade, calling him a ‘scared b*tch,’ among other things.

A flyweight title fight between champion Demetrious Johnson and challenger Tim Elliott served as the main event of tonight’s TUF 24 Finale fight card in Las Vegas. Round one begins and Elliot connects with a handful of punches, however none of them stun Johnson. Johnson shoots for a takedown, which resulted in Elliot ending up on top with a guillotine, however Johnson escaped the submission and made it back to his feet, landing a head kick on Elliot, who appeared to be gassed. Johnson then ends up on top position looking for a choke of his own, however Elliot is defending well. The TUF winner makes it back to his feet and lands an elbow that lands clean on Johnson, who fires back with a punch of his own that lands. Johnson advancing as Elliot is looking exhausted. Elliot lands a flurry of hooks to the body as Johnson is against the cage, dropping Johnson. 45 seconds left in the round, and Elliot lands a takedown. Elliot in half guard with 30 seconds left as the round ends.

Round one begins and Benavidez lands a leg kick to start. Henry charges forward but eats a counter from Joe. Henry with a nice combination and he hurts Joe. He lands a knee and then a follow up body kick. Cejudo with a left that drops Benavidez. Joe pops back up. Cejudo with a big kick to the body. Both men trading shot. Benavidez’s left eye is already busted up. Cejudo with a kick. Henry with a shot in the pocket. Cejudo catches a kick. Round one comes to an end.

A welterweight bout between Jake Ellenberger and Jorge Masvidal took place on tonight’s TUF 24 Finale main card in Las Vegas. Round one begins and Ellenberger lands a body kick to start, he follows that up with a low kick. Masvidal charges forward with a combination. Big shots from Jorge. Ellenberger drops. He gets back to his feet. Masvidal presses him against the cage and works some shots. They break and Ellenberger is bleeding. Jake comes forward with a jab. Masvidal goes upstairs with a high kick. Jake answers with a combo and then a knee. Masvidal charges forward with a high kick. Jake circles out and gets his toes trapped in the side of the fence. He falls to the ground. Herb Dean steps in and we break. Masvidal thinks he has won. Herb talks to the commission and this one is over.

A women’s bantamweight bout between Alexis Davis and Sara McMann took place on tonight’s TUF 24 Finale main card in Las Vegas. Round one begins and McMann starts things off with a right hand. Davis presses forward and lands a combination. Sara goes to the body with a jab and then upstairs with a right. She circles out and then comes forward with another crisp combination. She throws a right hand and then shoots in and scores a takedown. Alexis is trying to lockup a triangle choke. She switches to some elbows from the bottom. Sara gets off a right hand from the top. She switches to a left. Sara postures up and lands a couple of big shots. Alexis attempts to scramble. She switches to a triangle choke and begins working some more elbows from the bottom. Round one comes to an end.

A flyweight fight between Ryan Benoit and Brandon Moreno kicked off tonight’s TUF 24 Finale main card in Las Vegas. Round one begins and Moreno lands a good combination to start things off. He charges forward and presses Ryan against the fence. He looks for a takedown and gets it. Benoit immediately pops back up but Brandon drags him right back down. Benoit scrambles back to his feet and they break. Moreno presses forward with a right hand and pushes Ryan against the fence. He lands some decent short shots from the clinch. They break and Moreno connects with an accidental groin kick. The referee steps in a breaks the action. We restart and Moreno lands a nice combination. He presses forward but eats a huge body kick from Ryan. Benoit with a big right hand and then a left. He lands another kick. Moreno eats it and presses forward with a combination of his own. Benoit with a counter left. Round one comes to an end.
