With this dominant performance in the books, Volkanovski feels it’s time he’s rewarded with a top-15 or even a top-10 opponent. The rising talent made his case on the latest episode of BJ Penn Radio.

With a newly announced gig as an Invicta ring boy, an established modelling career, an entertaining YouTube channel, and lots more, UFC middleweight Elias Theodorou stays plenty busy outside the cage. That said, his packed schedule hasn’t detracted from his desire to fight. The Canadian star, who is the owner of an impressive 14-2 record, is currently eyeing a return to action this spring. “Looking to jump in April-ish… April-May,” Theodorou said on Episode 72 of BJ Penn Radio when asked about the ideal timeframe for his return. “But [I’m] always ready. I’m a professional athlete, 365, and even though I have a very busy day outside the cage, I’m still training every single day, and I’m a professional athlete as well.”

Bellator 200, which will go down on May 25 in London, England, is a landmark card for the promotion. From the looks of it, they’re going to make sure the event is suitably stacked. On Monday morning, the promotion announced the first two fights for the event.

Last night, WWE returned to the screens of pro wrestling fans with its Elimination Chamber event. Amid the madness, former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey signed her WWE contract. That said, she wasn’t the only big UFC name on site. UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and former heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez were also in the building, taking in the mayhem from ringside. Cormier and Velasquez seemed to have a great time, so much so that Velasquez suggested he’d be interested in trying his hand at pro wrestling one day, where he could wrest another title from the waste of former UFC heavyweight champ and current WWE star Brock Lesnar.

On Saturday night, in the main event of the UFC’s action-packed stop in Orlando, featherweight knockout artist Jeremy Stephens authored his latest act of brutality, this time at the expensive of Team Alpha Male contender Josh Emmett. Stephen’s knockout win came mid-way through the second round. Regrettably, Stephens’s victory has been mired in controversy, as several of the blows he landed in the fight ending sequence were thought to be illegal by many fans. The main strike in question was a knee, which seemed to graze Emmett’s head, that was thrown when Emmett was technically still a grounded opponent. Same commenters have also argued a few of the elbows Stephens threw made impact on the back of Emmett’s skull – though this can be partly attributed to Emmett turning into the strikes.

UFC Orlando Reebok Payouts: Five of the eight main card fighters take home just $5,000. UFC featherweight contender Jeremy Stephens pocketed an event high $20,000 for his brutal (and controversial) second-round knockout victory over Josh Emmett in last night’s UFC on FOX 28 main event.

On Saturday night, the UFC returned to Orlando, Florida with an exciting 12-fight FOX card. In the main event, cinderblock-fisted featherweight contenders Jeremy Stephens and Josh Emmett collided in a fight that had Performance of the Night written all over it. In the end, this fight met those expectations, with Stephens coming out on top in the most vicious way possible. After a close first round, Stephens found the opportunity to do what he does best, wobbling his foe with a punch, and polishing him off series of hellish elbows (and a knee that many onlookers felt they was illegal). Just like that, Emmett was supine on the canvas, and Jeremy Stephens was celebrating his latest act of brutality.

After fighting out his previous UFC contract under the advisement of his former manager, there was some doubt as to whether or not rising lightweight contender Steven Ray would re-sign with the promotion. Luckily, the Scottish fighter was ultimately able to hash out a new deal with the UFC, and is now set to return to the cage opposite Kajan Johnson when the UFC touches down in London on March 17. Speaking on the latest episode of BJ Penn Radio, Ray recounted the turbulent process that led to his new UFC deal.

On Sunday night, on the main card of the UFC’s exciting stop in sunny Orlando, Florida, Sweden’s Ilir Latifi stepped into the Octagon with Ovince Saint Preux. When Yoel Romero knocked out Luke Rockhold in the main event of UFC 221, he earned himself a rematch with reigning middleweight champion Robert Whittaker. While some fans felt Romero didn’t deserve this opportunity on the basis of his weigh-in flub, UFC President Dana White confirmed the plan was indeed a Whittaker-Romero rematch. While we have known this rematch is the plan for a few weeks, the date and venue of the rematch have remained nebulous. Whittaker is hoping he can fix that.

On Saturday night, in the main event of the UFC’s anticipated return to Orlando, Florida, featherweight knockout artist Jeremy Stephens authored yet another brutal stoppage win, this time at the expense of Josh Emmett. Unfortunately, Stephen’s knockout win, which left Emmett with a shattered orbital bone, was shadowed in controversy, as several of the strikes in the fight-ending sequence were widely believed to be illegal. The most questionable strikes of the bunch were a series of elbows that seemed to land on the back of the head, and a knee strike (which thankfully didn’t seem to land which much impact), that was certainly illegal under some MMA rulesets…

In the main event, cinderblock-fisted featherweight contenders Jeremy Stephens and Josh Emmett collided in a fight that had Performance of the Night written all over it. In the end, this fight met those expectations, with Stephens coming out on top in the most vicious way possible. After a close first round, Stephens found the opportunity to do what he does best. After wobbling his foe with a punch, he punished him with a series of questionable elbows and knees (many onlookers felt they were illegal as they seemed to land on the back of the head), and a salvo of absolutely brutal ground punches. Seconds later, Emmett was supine on the canvas, staring lifelessly up at the jumbotron, as a triumphant Stephens paraded around the Octagon. (Relive the finish here).
