The win marked Kelvin’s second in a row, as he had previously starched Michael Bisping this past November in Shanghai, China.

Jiu-jitsu ace Mackenzie Dern (7-0 MMA) kept her perfect mixed martials arts record intact at last night’s UFC 224 event in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil by scoring a first-round subsmission victory over Amanda Cooper. The victory showcased Mackenzie Dern’s ever evolving stand-up and of course her ridiculous submission skills, but the dominant win was likely overshadowed by the fact that Dern came in seven pounds over the 116-pound strawweight limit for the fight.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida (24-8 MMA) added another spectacular knockout to his highlight reel at last night’s UFC 224 event in Brazil. “The Dragon” starched former UFC champion Vitor Belfort with a front kick that sent “The Phenom” crashing to the canvas and into retirement.

Ryan Bader (25-5 MMA) advanced to the Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix tournament semifinals last night by picking up a quick fifteen-second knockout victory over Muhammed Lawal (21-7 MMA). The current Bellator light heavyweight champion, Ryan Bader, was able to drop “King Mo” with a left hand before eventually finishing Lawal off with ground and pound.

Jon Fitch (31-7-1 MMA) picked up one of the biggest wins of his career in his Bellator debut last night scoring a decision victory over feared knockout artist Paul Daley (40-16-2 MMA). Fitch was able to utilize his superior wrestling skills to frustrate the hard-hitting British fighter on route to a lopsided unanimous decision win (29-27, 29-26 x2).

UFC bantamweight knockout artist John Lineker lived up to his “hands of stone” reputation at tonight’s UFC 224 event in Brazil scoring a savage third-round knockout victory over a very game Brian Kelleher. John was able to catch Kelleher with some big shots throughout the course of the fight but Brian was able to survive each Lineker surge. That is until round three, when Lineker landed a left hook from hell which spawned an end to Kelleher’s night.

Former UFC light heavyweight champions Lyoto Machida and Vitor Belfort squared off in the first bout of tonight’s UFC 224 pay-per-view main card from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After a tentative opening round of action, “The Dragon” proceeded to turn up the heat in round number two.

A women’s bantamweight title fight headlined tonight’s UFC 224 event as Amanda Nunes put her title on the line against Raquel Pennington. Round one begins and Nunes starts off quickly by taking the center of the octagon. She leaps in with a left that fails to hit the mark. Nunes with a huge low kick that sends Pennington flying and crashing to the floor. She gets back up but Nunes is there to greet her with punches and then a pair of low kicks. Pennington fakes a kick to the body. Nunes lands a jab followed by another leg kick that sends Rocky to the floor. Pennington gets back up but Nunes greets her with a jab to the body. Amanda continues to fire off low kicks. Pennington ducks under a punch but misses with a counter left hook attempt. Both women decide to stand and trade in the pocket. Nunes side steps and then fires off a right hand. Another good combination from Nunes. Pennington eats it and then fires back with a nice uppercut. Nunes continues to press the pace here in round one. She lands another heavy low kick. Pennington comes forward with a combination. Nunes avoids and then lands a low kick. She lands another. Pennington charges forward with a flurry. Round one comes to an end.

A key middleweight scrap between Kelvin Gastelum and Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza served as the co-headliner of tonight’s UFC 224 event in Brazil. Souza was almost able to end the fight with an armbar in round one, but Gastelum managed to survive the submission attempt.

A middleweight fight featuring former UFC light heavyweight champions Vitor Belfort and Lyoto Machida took place on the main card of tonight’s UFC 224 pay-per-view event in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The bout is expected to serve as Belfort’s retirement fight.

40-year-old UFC heavyweight Alexey Oleynik (53-11-1 MMA) picked up the eleventh Ezekiel choke submission victory of his career at tonight’s UFC 224 event submitting his opponent Junior Albini in the very first-round. “The Boa Constrictor” is the only man to ever record an Ezekiel choke submission win in UFC history and he has now done it twice.

Earlier this week rapper/actor 50 Cent (Curtis Jackson) sent the mixed martial arts community in to a buzz after he teased a potential fight between himself and former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson on Instagram. Most fight fans laughed off the Fifty’s social media post assuming it to be a simple publicicty stunt.

Jiu-jitsu ace Mackenzie Dern (6-0 MMA) will return to the octagon at tonight’s UFC 224 event in Brazil where she will square off with Amanda Cooper. The Dern vs. Cooper fight will take place at catchweight, this after Mackenzie badly missed the strawweight limit (116 pounds) by coming in at 123-pounds.

Finally set to make her long-awaited UFC debut is the former Invicta FC featherweight champion, Megan Anderson. Anderson will be making her debut at UFC 225 on June 9th when she takes on former UFC bantamweight champion, Holly Holm. Since the UFC’s inception of the women’s 145-pound featherweight division in February 2017, they have essentially had just a two-person roster if you only count fighters that have never fought below 140 pounds. Those two being Anderson and the reigning champion, Cris Cyborg.
