UFC Boise produced some pretty memorable moments, from Niko Price’s insane knockout of Randy Brown, to Cat Zingano’s emotional defeat of Marion Reneau, to Chad Mendes’ successful return to action. Unfortunately, the card also produced a few unsavory moments in the form of some questionable judging. There were three decisions on the UFC Boise card in particular that many fans seemed to disagree with. The first saw Said Nurmagomedov defeat Justin Scoggins via split decision. The second saw Alejandro Pérez defeat Eddie Wineland via unanimous decision. The third saw Rick Glenn defeat Dennis Bermudez via split decision. While there are certainly plenty of fans who feel the judges scored these fights properly, others feel the judges were way off.

UFC 225, which went down on June 9 in Chicago, was an extremely stacked card. It was headlined by a middleweight showdown between champ Robert Whittaker and overweight challenger Yoel Romero, co-headlined by an interim welterweight title fight between Colby Covington and Rafael dos Anjos, and sweetened by a host of other fantastic matchups. Surprisingly, however, the card is only reported to have sold something in the area of 250,000 pay-per-views — not a disastrous number, but certainly not a home run either.

Earlier this month, on the main card of UFC 226, former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis picked up a sorely needed victory, submitting BJJ blackbelt Michael Chiesa in the second round. With this incredible win, Pettis reasserted himself as a top-10 UFC lightweight, and more importantly, assured that his UFC career is not in jeopardy. Having revived his impressive career, Pettis is now looking to the future — and he seems to want a big fight.

Former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor is currently in Russia, where he attended the World Cup final. He’s also using this Russian visit to build a “Russian compound,” whatever that means… As it turns out, McGregor was invited to the World Cup final as a guest of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Shortly after the game wrapped up, McGregor took to Instagram to share a few photos of his meeting with Putin, and offer his thanks to the Russian President.

Earlier this week, former Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz took to social media where he criticized the UFC for awarding Brock Lesnar a heavyweight title fight with new champion Daniel Cormier, and bashed Cormier for his fighting style.

Cat Zingano entered her UFC Boise battle with Marion Reneau on a three-fight losing streak, having not won a bout since 2014. Needless to say, the pressure she felt to win was massive. So massive, that she admits she felt very scared ahead of the fight. In the end, of course, Zingano came out on top, landing a procession of slick takedowns en route to a unanimous decision victory. To say she’s relieved to have earned this sorely-needed win would be an understatement.

Jon Jones, who is currently awaiting his sentencing from USADA and his hoping to return to the UFC’s Octagon in the near future, is interested in staying busy with a grappling match. Jones expressed his interest in a grappling match on Twitter over the weekend.

UFC women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg was hoping her super fight with bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes would occur at UFC 228 this September 8. Regrettably, Nunes turned this date down, and the UFC is now working on the fight for UFC 232 on December 29. This is not ok with Cyborg, who has not fought since March, when she mauled Yana Kunitskaya to a first-round stoppage. The featherweight champ is simply not interested in enduring long layovers of this length.

Last night, in the co-main event of UFC Boise, “Super” Sage Northcutt picked up his first victory in the UFC welterweight division, defeating Zak Ottow by KO after a period of early adversity. While Northcutt has previously fought and won in the UFC lightweight division, this first welterweight win was important to him, as he considers welterweight his natural weight.

Last night, in the main event of UFC Boise, former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos stepped into the Octagon to battle former World Series of Fighting champion Blagoy Ivanov, who was making his anticipated UFC debut. The bout marked dos Santos’ first fight after a lengthy SNAFU with USADA, in which he was ultimately deemed innocent, but suspended anyway. For this reason, it was extra crucial that dos Santos pick up a win if he hoped to reestablish himself as one of the heavyweight division’s best. In the end, dos Santos earned his sorely-needed win, out-fighting the debuting Ivanov to a unanimous decision victory. Having reaffirmed himself as one of the game’s premier heavyweights, dos Santos is now hoping to participate in a number-one-contender fight with former champion Stipe Miocic.

A key heavyweight scrap between former UFC champion Junior Dos Santos and promotional newcomer Blagoy Ivanov served as the headliner of tonight’s UFC Boise event. The former World Series of Fighting heavyweight champion, Blagoy Ivanov (16-1 MMA), entered tonight’s main event fight on a five fight win streak.

UFC welterweight Niko Price (13-1 MMA) picked up one of the more bizarre wins in recent memory at tonight’s UFC Fight Night event in Boise, Idaho. Niko Price squared off with Randy Brown this evening and the pair wasted no time engaging in round one. Brown arguably got the better of Price in round one and appeared to be entering round two with a point advantage.

Former UFC featherweight title challenger Chad Mendes (18-4 MMA) returned to action at tonight’s UFC Fight Night event in Boise, Idaho against Myles Jury. The fight marked Chad’s first bout since December of 2015 when he was defeated by Frankie Edgar via first-round knockout.

Former UFC featherweight and lightweight title holder Conor McGregor turned 30-years-old today and received a sweet surprise from his significant other Dee Devlin for the special occasion. Devlin, who gave birth to the Irish superstars first child Conor McGregor Jr. back in 2017, recently took to Instagram with the following post hinting at her pregnancy while wishing “The Notorious” a Happy Birthday.

Daniel Cormier earned arguably the biggest win of his mixed martial arts career at last weekend’s UFC 226 event in Las Vegas when he stopped Stipe Miocic in the very first-round of their highly anticipated title fight. The impressive knockout victory captured Daniel Cormier the UFC heavyweight championship and improved his overall professional mixed martial arts record to 21-1.
