Over the last few days, there has been ample discussion about YouTube star Logan Paul potentially trying his hand at MMA, perhaps even in the UFC’s Octagon. Paul, to remind, recently competed in a high-profile boxing match with fellow YouTuber KSI, and apparently also has a respectable background in wrestling. Paul himself discussed the possibility on Twitter, explaining that he found the idea exciting.

On November 24, a 48-year-old Chuck Liddell and a 43-year-old Tito Ortiz will step into the cage for a third time. The two UFC Hall of Famers and former UFC light heavyweight champions will do so in the main event of the first MMA event put forth by boxing promoter Oscar De La Hoya. Given the age of both fighters, and the fact that Chuck Liddell has not fought since 2010, the first whispers of this bout were met with immediate skepticism. Many fans and pundits argued that the fight should not even be sanctioned.

Yesterday afternoon, we learned that the domestic violence charges against former Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz had been dismissed by the Las Vegas, Nevada District Attorney’s office. “[Diaz is] grateful the District Attorney’s office was fair and thoughtful in reviewing this case based on the evidence,” Diaz’s attorney Ross Goodman said in a statement to ESPN.

Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone will no longer be training at JacksonWink MMA. Speaking on the Joe Rogan Experience MMA Show this week, Cerrone explained why, citing a growing distaste for the Albuquerque gym’s coaching staff, and the fact that they agreed to train his upcoming opponent “Platinum” Mike Perry.  This very public falling out between Cerrone and JacksonWink has the MMA community divided. Some fans and pundits are siding with the gym, while others are steadfastly on team Cowboy. File former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate into the latter category.

Earlier this month, YouTube star Logan Paul competed in a high-profile boxing match with his rival YouTuber KSI. In the wake of this massive event, there has been some buzz about Paul — the owner of a solid wrestling background — potentially competing in the UFC.  “Someone in the UFC offices is watching going, ‘That Logan Paul looked pretty good. How much does he weigh?’” Brendan Schaub posited on his Below The Belt podcast. “You’re batshit crazy if you don’t think in the UFC office this morning someone went, ‘We’re just spit-balling ideas here, did anyone see the Logan Paul fight? He didn’t look terrible! What numbers did they do? Better than any card we’ve had this year. Should we sign him?’ I guarantee there’s a spark interest of signing Logan Paul to the UFC.”

Curtis Blaydes wants the next crack at UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier. If it weren’t for the upcoming UFC return of WWE star Brock Lesnar, he might just have gotten it. Unfortunately for Blaydes, Lesnar is returning, and when he does, he’ll jump the heavyweight contendership line and get the next shot at Cormier. In the meantime, Blaydes will rematch the only man he’s lost to, former title challenger Francis Ngannou.

On October 6, in the main event of UFC 229, undefeated UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov will attempt to defend his title opposite former lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor. Kevin Lee, who is one of the top contenders in the division, will be watching this fight very closely. If Lee is able to win his next fight, which is not yet scheduled, he might just find himself in the cage with the Nurmagomedov vs. McGregor winner some time thereafter. So who does he think that winner will be?

Over the last few weeks, UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw and boxer Gervonta Davis have engaged in a number of social media skirmishes. The pair even agreed to fight each other — be it in the UFC’s Octagon or the boxing ring. Speaking to Adam Glyn in New York City this week, Gervonta Davis discussed this potential matchup with Dillashaw. Apparently, he’s all for fighting the UFC champ, so long as it pays well.

The official UFC rankings have been updated in the wake of Saturday’s UFC Lincoln card. Interestingly, main event winner Justin Gaethje didn’t move at all for his blistering, first-round knockout of James Vick. Vick, meanwhile, tumbled down two spots in the lightweight rankings.
