Jon Jones is inarguably one of the greatest fighters in MMA history. In fact, he might just be the best fighter ever. That being said, the last few years of his career, have not gone particularly smoothly. Although he has authored some incredible performances in that time, his success has been marred by several failed drug tests and several unfortunate brushes with the law. Of all the incidents that cast a shadow over his recent career, however, Jon Jones says there is one that he regrets most of all: his 2015 hit-and-run, in which he ran a red light and collided with another vehicle, injuring a pregnant woman in the process.

Back in October, former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor finally returned to the Octagon, taking on reigning UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov in his first mixed martial arts bout in more than two years. Unfortunately for McGregor and his throngs of fans, this return to action did not go as planned, as he was tapped out by Nurmagomedov in the fourth round. Since then, Conor McGregor has claimed several times that he does plan on fighting again. Given the mountains of wealth he’s sitting on and the many side projects that keep him busy outside the cage, however, these claims are often met with a degree of skepticism.

Former Impact and WWE star Alberto Del Rio (née Alberto Rodriguez) is looking to return to the cage next year. The 40-year-old spoke to Busted Open Radio recently and expressed his desire to fight fight again. “[I’m looking to fight] end of March, beginning of April.” Rodriguez explained (transcript via Wrestling Inc). “My last pro fight was 11, 12 years ago in Japan. Of course I train every single day, but it is different to be in shape and into fighting shape and I am getting into fighting shape.”

On Sunday afternoon, that’s just what the MMA legend did, this time taking aim at his former opponent Rashad Evans, and at UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell. Rashad Evans was the first of Jon Jones’ targets. Apparently, Evans recently made some comments that implied Jones was using performance-enhancing drugs when they fought, and that Jones’ 2016 fight with Ovince Saint Preux was the only time he’s fought without these substances in the UFC’s Octagon.

UFC Beijing featured two heavyweight fights that had major impacts on the divisional rankings. In the main event, Francis Ngannou took on Curtis Blaydes in a highly anticipated rematch. Meanwhile, in the co-main event, veteran Alistair Overeem took on UFC newcomer Sergey Pavlovich. Ultimately, both Overeem and Ngannou won their fights by knockout, which will surely cause both to surge up the divisional rankings. Blaydes and Pavlovich, meanwhile, will have to return to the drawing board.

On Saturday night, in the main event of Golden Boy Promotions’ first MMA event, former UFC light heavyweight champ Tito Ortiz picked up a long-awaited win over his arch rival Chuck Liddell, melting “The Icemen” with a first-round heater. While this was a feel-good win for Tito Ortiz, who had been knocked out twice previously by Liddell, it was a tough one to watch for many fans. Liddell, after all, is 48 years old, and had not fought in eight years, since a string of three consecutive knockout losses prompted UFC President Dana White to shepherd him into retirement.

As you can probably imagine, the whole gang was quite impressed by the UFC Beijing main event, which saw former UFC heavyweight title challenger Francis Ngannou rebound from losses to Stipe Miocic and Derrick Lewis with a thunderous, first-round knockout of streaking American wrestler Curtis Blaydes.
