On November 9, UFC veteran Isaac Vallie-Flagg stepped into the ring to battle Cory Simpson on the undercard of the debut event from World Bare Knuckle Fighting Federation (WBKFF). Vallie-Flagg won this fight by second-round TKO, and absolutely loved the experienced of fighting sans gloves.  Unfortunately, he still hasn’t been paid for his work.

Among the madness that was UFC 223, we saw several changes made to the fight card as well as the main event. Originally scheduled to be a vacant lightweight title bout between perennial top contenders in Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson, things would drastically change after a freak injury forced Ferguson out of the fight.

For a brief moment, there was an end to when we would have to stop waiting for Dominick Cruz to return to action. Unfortunately, that wouldn’t last very long as yet another injury postponed his storied career. Having been set to return at UFC 233 on January 26 against John Lineker, a shoulder injury threw the fight into question and after the card’s cancellation as a whole, it appears that the fight won’t be rebooked. At least anytime soon.

When UFC veteran Damien Brown steps into the RIZIN ring with Daron Cruickshank at RIZIN 14 in Tokyo, Japan, on New Years Eve, he’ll be crossing an item off his bucket list. The Australian lightweight has long been interested in fighting for RIZIN in Japan, and on this card that also features massive names like Floyd Mayweather Jr., Tenshin Nasukawa, Kyoji Horiguchi, and Darrion Caldwell, the timing couldn’t be better.

Originally, streaking UFC flyweight contender Andrea Lee was expected to meet Australia’s Jessica-Rose Clark on the undercard of this weekend’s UFC Milwaukee event. Unfortunately, this exciting flyweight matchup was nixed when Clark was deemed unfit to compete by the UFC medical team. UFC statement on JRC: "On Friday morning UFC flyweight Jessica-Rose Clark was deemed medically unfit to compete by UFC physicians. As a result the scheduled flyweight bout with Clark and Andrea Lee has been cancelled" #UFCMilwaukee

Earlier this year, British MMA legend Michael Bisping announced his retirement from mixed martial arts competition, closing the curtain on a truly incredible career. Perhaps the most impressive feat on Bisping’s lengthy resume occurred in June of 2016, when he stepped up to battle then UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold on short notice, and scored a massive upset by the stealing the title with a first-round knockout win.

At UFC Brooklyn when the UFC makes their first appearance on ESPN programming (ESPN+), the card will be headlined by a big champion vs champion bout as flyweight titleholder Henry Cejudo looks to defend against bantamweight champ TJ Dillashaw. This will be Dillashaw’s divisional debut at 125-pounds. Therefore, it remains to be seen if he can make the weight.

However, Yusuff found out his brother had passed away a week before his UFC debut. After a long struggle to find a suitable main event for UFC 233, which was scheduled for January 26 in Anaheim, the promotion has decided to cancel the card outright. The bouts that were scheduled for this event, including a high profile welterweight bout between former UFC champ Robbie Lawler and former ONE and Bellator champ Ben Askren, will be rescheduled for future cards. It did not take long for the UFC to find a new for this Lawler vs. Askren fight.

UFC President Dana White does not like Oscar De La Hoya. That’s been clear for awhile now. If there was any lingering doubt about how Dana White feels about the boxing turned MMA promoter, however, his comments in a recent interview with Yahoo! Sports should clear things up.
