Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping has some lingering questions about Jon Jones’s drug testing situation. Ahead of his UFC 232 title fight with Alexander Gustafsson, a Jon Jones drug test detected trace amounts of the banned substance turinabol. To make matters worse, UFC executive Jeff Novitzky revealed on an episode of the Joe Rogan Experience MMA show that small amounts of turinabol had turned up on several other Jones drug tests dating back to August.

At UFC 232, which went down in late December in Los Angeles, former UFC bantamweight title challenger Cat Zingano stepped into the cage with former Invicta champ Megan Anderson for a highly anticipated featherweight contender bout. Unfortunately, this bout ended in controversy. Early in the first round, Anderson uncorked a well-timed head kick. Regrettably, her toe landed right in Zingano’s eye, causing a nasty laceration that forced the end of the fight.

Former champion Stipe Miocic doesn’t want to see “DC” retire as the heavyweight champion and called his shot on Twitter earlier this morning. .@dc_mma March 20 is coming up quick. Zebaztian Kadestam is a 28-year-old martial artist from Sweden, and he’s the ONE Welterweight World Champion. Over the course of his MMA career, Kadestam has compiled an 11-4 record with nine victories coming by KO and another by submission. When “The Bandit” comes to the cage, he is looking to steal away his opponent’s consciousness. Kadestam is just the third man in history to hold the ONE Welterweight World Title. The other two are Nobutatsu Suzuki and Ben Askren. Kadestam began his reign in November 2018 at ONE: Warrior’s Dream when he scored a fifth-round KO victory over Tyler McGuire to capture the strap that was vacated when Askren was traded to the UFC for Demetrious Johnson. Kadestam’s stamina and constant pressure wore down McGuire, and as the latter retreated following a fifth-round exchange, Kadestam caught him with a power shot that dropped him.

Today, Francis Ngannou is one of the UFC’s most fearsome heavyweight contenders. Yet not all that long ago, he was living in poverty in Cameroon. Having established himself in the UFC, Ngannou is now giving back to his community in Cameroon. He’s now opened up the country’s first “first full MMA and combat sport gym” as part of his charitable organization the Francis Ngannou Foundation.

In January of 2015, MMA legends Anderson Silva and Nick Diaz stepped into the cage together for a matchup that had fight fans drooling in anticipation. After five wild, rounds, Silva was announced the winner of this fight by unanimous decision. Unfortunately, that result was eventually overturned when Silva tested positive for Drostanolone and Diaz tested positive for marijuana metabolites. Four years later, Anderson Silva says he’s still interested in a do-over with Nick Diaz — but not for the UFC’s benefit. The former middleweight champion feels the UFC has a habit of using aging stars to promote young prospects, and he doesn’t want a potential rematch with Diaz to serve that purpose.

Over the last few days, champ Khabib Nurmagomedov and former champ Conor McGregor have been trading shots on social media, and on Sunday morning, fan favorite contender Nate Diaz inserted himself into the fracas, rekindling his old beef with Nurmagomedov, which began with a heated altercation at a World Series of Fighting show in 2015. Over the last few days, the pair have exchanged virulent trash talk in interviews and on social media, and talk of a potential fight between them is once again rampant. Speaking on Off The Ball, Malignaggi upped the ante, challenging McGregor to a winner-takes-all fight in the boxing ring.

And now, another premier player in the UFC lightweight division has joined the fracas: Nate Diaz. Colby Covington is not happy that he is not getting the next crack at UFC welterweight champ Tyron Woodley (that honor is going to Kamaru Usman at UFC 235 instead). The former interim champ is adamant that he has been done dirty by the UFC, and despite the fact that he’s one of the most polarizing figures in the sport, a great many members of the MMA community agree with him. Tyron Woodley, however, does not.

In this second meeting, Jones won once more, this time by third-round TKO. Despite these setbacks, Alexander Gustafsson and his team are still very confident he can beat the seemingly unbeatable Jon Jones.
