Darren Till responds to UFC London fight offer from Jorge Masvidal

The UFC’s return to London, which goes down on March 17, is still without a main event. That being said, it’s been widely rumored that British welterweight contender Darren Till will get the call to headline the card — he’ll just need to find a willing dance partner.

On Monday morning, he found just that, as long time UFC welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal offered to fight Till in his backyard.

“I hear you having the same probs I am trying to find someone to fight you in your backyard,” Masvidal wrote on Twitter. “I love fighting in other peoples backyards. I’m game if UFC can make it happen.”

It did not take long for Darren Till to respond to this suggestion from Jorge Masvidal, and from the looks of it, he’s pretty excited about the possibility.

Jorge Masvidal has not fought since November of 2017, when he came up short to two-time welterweight title challenger Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson. In his next most recent fight, he was defeated by another title challenger in Demian Maia.

The fan favorite welterweight contender was briefly linked to a UFC 235 showdown with Nick Diaz, but reports of this fight were later proven to be inaccurate.

Darren Till last fought in September, when he came up short in a title fight with reigning UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. In his next most recent fight, he picked up a razor-close decision win against Wonderboy.

At present, the biggest fight on the UFC London bill is a light heavyweight contender bout between Volkan Oezdemir and Dominick Reyes, first reported right here on BJPenn.com.That fight is tentatively expected to serve as the card’s co-main event. The card will also feature another light heavyweight fight between Gokhan Saki and Saparbek Safarov.
