Shortly after Khabib Nurmagomedov defeated Conor McGregor by rear-naked choke in the main event of UFC 229 in October, he leapt over the side of the Octagon and dive bombed McGregor’s friend and training partner Dillon Danis. Ever since, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dillon Danis have had plenty to say about each other on social media.

Speaking on Twitter after the fight, the Irish MMA star shared his thoughts on the passionate fans that turn up for the UFC’s cards in Brazil, and announced that he hopes to compete in the country before his career draws to a close.

Former UFC featherweight kingpin Jose Aldo scored a second-round TKO victory over Renato Moicano at tonight’s UFC Fortaleza event. Aldo was able to catch Moicano with a beautiful counter punch that had Renato in all sorts of trouble. From there, Jose Aldo would fire off some ruthless body shots which prompted the referee to step in and stop the fight.

Earlier this week, the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) convened to decide the fates of Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor, who were involved in a hectic, post-fight brawl after their UFC 229 contest. Conor McGregor was handed a $50,000 fine and six month suspension. Khabib Nurmagomedov, meanwhile, was hit with a much heavier $500,000 fine and a nine-month suspension, though this suspension can be reduced to six months if completes an anti-bullying public service announcement.

Nurmagomedov was handed a $500,000 fine and a nine-month ban, which can be reduced to six months if he completes an anti-bullying PSA. McGregor, meanwhile, received a lighter six-month suspension and $50,000 fine.

Earlier this week, actor and martial artist Steven Seagal told Submission Radio that he agreed with Khabib Nurmagomedov’s decision to leap over the cage and attack Dillon Danis after the UFC 229 main event. “I thought that Khabib outclassed Conor in every way,” Steven Seagal began, discussing Nurmagomedov’s defeat of Dillon Danis training partner Conor McGregor. “I thought even in the stand up with the punching, he out-punched Conor. I thought his ground game was better. I thought that he was just a better fighter all around and I thought that he just really, really dominated Conor in every way and he won the fight fair and square. Do I condemn him for what he did after the fight? No. Even as a diplomat I will say no. If you badmouth someone’s family, their wife, their children, their mother, their father, their country, their religion, all bets are off, and I would have done the same thing.”

Speaking on ESPN’s Now or Never earlier this week, UFC President Dana White stated that the time for a rematch between UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones and heavyweight champ Daniel Cormier is ‘now.’ “Now,” White said bluntly of a rematch between the two arch rivals. “Yeah. I think that right now, Cormier probably has three fights left in his career, you know what I mean? And one of those guys is definitely going to be Jon Jones.”
