Manel Kape calls Kyoji Horiguchi rematch at UFC Vegas 119 the ‘perfect scenario’ for ‘revenge’

Manel Kape is looking to get some revenge on Saturday.

Kape is set to headline UFC Vegas 119 on Saturday at the Apex against Kyoji Horiguchi. The two fought back in 2017 in RIZIN, and it was Horiguchi who won by submission.

So, ahead of their rematch on Saturday at UFC Vegas 119, Kape believes this is a perfect scenario for him to get revenge against Horiguchi.

“I knew it will happen,” Kape said to UFC.com. “I knew when he signed again to the UFC, he will be quickly in this position where he is right now, but there is only one guy that can stop me, and that’s me.

“This is a perfect scenario for the rematch and revenge,” continued Kape, a knowing smile painting his face. “Back in the time nine years ago, I was a young kid, only training with my brother, my cousin, and we faced a guy with a big team behind him, already been all these experiences in the UFC. Looking back at that time, we did a helluva job with him; I think it was the hardest fight the had in Rizin. No resources, only me, hungry to face a guy with everything he had, but I have now even more. Now it’s equal. If without nothing I did what I did to him and (eventually) became a champion, imagine right now? I’m a different fighter. It’s a perfect scenario to get revenge.”

As Kape said, he believes he’s a much better fighter than Horiguchi now, and he is eager to prove it.

Not only does Manel Kape think he’s better, but he believes he will make quick work of the former RIZIN champ.

Kape has confidence in his striking that he will be able to get a KO win over Horiguchi to likely secure a title shot.

“I have a strong belief I’m gonna knock out this guy. I’ve been knocking out people and this time isn’t going to be different,” Kape said.

Kape is on a three-fight winning streak and coming off a KO win over Brandon Royval.
