His opponent in this return to action will be Alexander Gustafsson, the Swedish star who gave him his toughest challenge to date back in 2013. Last night, Jon Jones hosted an impromptu meet-and-greet with his fans in Las Vegas. Jones announced this meet-and-greet on social media earlier in the day. Fetching content “What’s up guys, today is Wednesday, December 26, 2018, UFC 232,” he announced. “I just came up with a crazy idea, but hopefully it turns out to be a really good idea. I want to meet some of you fans that came from different countries, different places around America, to shake your hands. So what I’m going to do is, me and my coaches are going to be in the lobby at the MGM Grand from 7:00pm until 7:45. Bring pictures, bring whatever you’ve got, I’ll bring the marker. I’m going to be signing autographs, taking pictures, chatting with you guys, getting to meet you guys and I really hope some of you guys show up. So I’ll see you at the MGM Grand at 7:00, don’t be late because I’m only staying until about 7:45. I have a workout scheduled at 8:00. Jon Jones was forced to enroll in the VADA drug testing program yesterday, this as part of the approval process to have Saturday’s UFC 232 event moved to Los Angeles. ESPN’s Brett Okamoto was first to report the news that Jones will be the first fighter in MMA history to be enrolled in both VADA and USADA drug testing at the same time.

Last night, we learned that trace amounts of turinabol had been detected in Jon Jones’ body, and that the Nevada State Athletic Commission refused to license him for his UFC 232 fight with Alexander Gustafsson as a result. The UFC then moved the entire UFC 232 card to LA, as the California State Athletic Commission agreed to license Jones on the basis that he didn’t actually fail a drug test and his other recent tests have come back negative. One of the first fighters to react to this wild turn of events, unsurprisingly, was Jon Jones’ arch rival Daniel Cormier.

According to a report from MMAjunkie, a drug test taken by former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has caught an ‘atypical finding’ — a trace amount of Chlorodehydromethyltestosterone or turinabol. This is the same drug Jones tested positive for after his UFC 214 fight with Daniel Cormier. According to this report from MMAjunkie, the Nevada State Athletic Commission does not have adequate time to investigate this finding and clear Jones to fight on the 29th. As a result, the UFC has moved the entire UFC 232 card to The Forum in Inglewood, California. The card will still occur on the same night.
