Harry Kettle - December 19, 2023

UFC welterweight king Leon Edwards has responded to Jon Jones’ praise following his victory at UFC 296. Last weekend in the main event of UFC 296, Leon Edwards defeated Colby Covington. While he didn’t finish him, he did manage to carve out a dominant performance, winning four of the five rounds on the judges’ scorecards. It came as a welcome relief for many critics who aren’t the biggest fans of Colby’s antics.

Daniel Cormier believes Anthony Smith “let pride get in the way” by not allowing DQ in 2019 title fight with Jon Jones

Harry Kettle - December 8, 2023

UFC commentator Daniel Cormier believes Anthony Smith allowed his pride to get in the way during his fight against Jon Jones in 2019. In the eyes of many, Jon Jones is the greatest of all time. He built that reputation by running through numerous light heavyweight stars, which included a run between 2018 and 2020 after making his long-awaited return. One of his opponents was Anthony Smith, who he battled at UFC 235.

Daniel Cormier admits that he nearly pulled a Mike Tyson during infamous Jon Jones scuffle: "I'm going to bite!"

Josh Evanoff - December 7, 2023

Former UFC champion Daniel Cormier nearly went full Mike Tyson against Jon Jones during their infamous scuffle. ‘DC’ and ‘Bones’ famously had one of the most heated feuds in MMA history. In the cage, the two met on two different occasions. On both occasions, Jon Jones emerged with a win over Daniel Cormier. However, his UFC 214 victory in July 2017 was overturned to a no-contest due to a failed drug test.

Dan Henderson believes he would've "beat the f*ck" out of Jon Jones had UFC 151 fight gone through

Josh Evanoff - December 6, 2023

Dan Henderson has no doubts about how his UFC 151 light-heavyweight title fight with Jon Jones would’ve gone. ‘Hendo’ and ‘Bones’ were famously slated to clash well over a decade ago. As the story goes, Dan Henderson was fresh off his incredible fight with Shogun Rua at UFC 139. That victory, as well as a three-fight winning streak coming over from Strikeforce, was enough to earn a title shot against Jon Jones.

UFC champion Jon Jones gets support from unlikely name in war of words with Tom Aspinall: "I don't think he should be stripped"

Fernando Quiles - December 6, 2023

UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones has been shown support from an unlikely name. Jones has recently gotten into a social media spat with interim UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall. “Bones” didn’t take too kindly to Aspinall saying that he should be stripped of his main title after suffering a torn pectoral muscle in preparation for his previously planned title defense against Stipe Miocic.

Jailton Almeida goes to bat for Jon Jones, calls for UFC interim heavyweight title fight against Tom Aspinall

Harry Kettle - December 6, 2023

UFC heavyweight Jailton Almeida has given his thoughts on the ongoing feud between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall. The heavyweight division is in limbo right now. While Jon Jones is the undisputed champion, Tom Aspinall holds the interim gold. The expectation would usually be for the two to compete against one another and unify the belts when Jon is healthy. However, ‘Bones’ is set on facing Stipe Miocic at some point in 2024 before a collision with Aspinall.

Dana White explains why the UFC won’t be stripping Jon Jones of his heavyweight title: “The Stipe fight has to happen”

Fernando Quiles - December 5, 2023

Don’t expect UFC CEO Dana White to entertain the idea of stripping Jon Jones of the UFC Heavyweight Championship. Jones was expected to put his gold on the line against Stipe Miocic at UFC 295 on November 11. That didn’t end up happening, as “Bones” suffered a torn pectoral muscle while preparing for the fight. As a result, the bout was replaced with an interim title fight between Tom Aspinall and Sergei Pavlovich. Aspinall scored a knockout win in just over one minute.

Susan Cox - November 22, 2023

Robert Whittaker believes it would be ‘healthier’ for Jon Jones to just relinquish his UFC heavyweight title. Originally UFC 295 was to have featured Jon Jones (27-1 MMA) vs. Stipe Miocic (20-4 MMA) in the main event heavyweight title fight, but ‘Bones’ had to withdraw due to injury.

Francis Ngannou’s coach pinpoints who would be the tougher matchup between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall

Fernando Quiles - November 19, 2023

Francis Ngannou’s MMA coach Eric Nicksick has given his take on whether Jon Jones or Tom Aspinall would be the tougher fight for “The Predator.” Ngannou is currently enjoying the fruits of his labor in the boxing world after nearly upsetting WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. While Ngannou is scheduled to make his PFL debut in 2024, most agree that a boxing match would be the next logical move for the former UFC heavyweight champion. Even when his schedule becomes clear, many feel the big MMA fights for Ngannou would’ve been under the UFC banner.

Jake Paul says it’s “a shame” that Dana White isn’t willing to collaborate with PFL for Jones vs. Ngannou: “We share the same media partner?”

Harry Kettle - November 14, 2023

Jake Paul has questioned why Dana White wouldn’t be willing to co-promote with PFL for Jon Jones vs Francis Ngannou. It’s well-known that fight fans want to see Jon Jones vs Francis Ngannou. The only problem, of course, is that Jones is signed to UFC, and Ngannou is signed to PFL. Many have suggested that the two promotions could work together on the bout and put on a monstrous co-promotion.

Cole Shelton - November 13, 2023

UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones is only a slight favorite in a potential fight against Tom Aspinall. Josh Evanoff - November 13, 2023

UFC interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall doesn’t see much of a point in Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic now. The British fighter returned on short notice in the co-main event of UFC 295 over the weekend. While not originally slated for the card, Tom Aspinall stepped up after Jon Jones withdrew from the main event. Due to ‘Bones’ suffering a torn pec, Stipe Miocic was also removed to keep the fight intact.

Dana White reacts to the idea of cross promoting Jon Jones vs. Francis Ngannou

Fernando Quiles - November 12, 2023

It is quite clear that UFC CEO Dana White has no plans doing business of any kind with PFL MMA. Francis Ngannou’s stock has soared in the world of boxing after he went the distance with Tyson Fury. He almost defeated Fury at his own game. While Ngannou is enjoying great success outside of the UFC, one of the downfalls is that the lone appealing MMA fight for him is against Jon Jones.
