Daniel Cormier can’t beat Jon Jones at anything, claims RAF co-founder

Daniel Cormier isn’t beating Jon Jones at anything if the co-founder of Real American Freestyle (RAF) is to be believed.
Cormier and Jones have been at odds for over a decade. The two even brawled during a press event before their first fight inside the Octagon. Jones defeated Cormier via unanimous decision in early 2015. “Bones” stopped Cormier in their 2017 rematch, but the result was changed to a no contest after Jones failed a drug test for turinabol.
There had been some back-and-forth over how a freestyle wrestling match between the two would play out. Jones seemingly poured cold water on the idea when he revealed he has arthritis in his hip.
Even under Jones’ current circumstances, Izzy Martinez told MMA Junkie Radio that he can’t see Cormier defeating “Bones” in wrestling or anything else.
“I love the guy. He’s awesome – tons of respect for him. But they need to beat Jon at some point,” Martinez said. “Daniel Cormier hasn’t beat Jon. I don’t think he can beat Jon at anything, but he needs to beat him at something, and the next best thing that he’s ever able to do is wrestle. So that’s always been the sh*t talk.
“‘Oh, you could beat me in a fight, but I’d beat your ass in wrestling.’ Even when I was telling Hulk Hogan, one day, it would be a hell of a dream because Daniel Cormier would actually think he’s going to come out here and kill Jon, and Jon will shock him again and the wrestling world will go crazy. So yeah, that’s a dream.”
Both Cormier and Jones have retired from active competition. While “Bones” initially teased a return fight against Alex Pereira, he recently admitted to Helen Yee that his pro MMA career might be done for good.
