There has been much speculation as to whether or not Georges St-Perre will be returning to the Octagon. The former welterweight kingpin has been training, however there’s been no word yet on whether or not he will be returning to the Octagon. With Conor McGregor retiring yesterday, and subsequently being pulled from his UFC 200 rematch with Nate Diaz, many are wondering if St-Pierre will be tapped to fill in against Nate Diaz given that his talks with the UFC have reportedly been going well.

Former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre has not made any official announcement regarding a return to fighting in the Octagon but has revealed that he is in negotiations with the UFC on fighting once again. “I don’t know 100 percent,” St-Pierre said to Ariel Helwani on Monday’s episode of the MMA Hour. “We are training and doing some testing, tuning up and stuff like that. We are talking with UFC, we will see what is gonna happen.”

Recently however, there has been much talk of a potential GSP return to the Octagon at UFC 200, where many fight fans would like to see him fight Robbie Lawler.

The UFC then posted a photo counting down the days to UFC 200, using a photo of Georges St. Pierre, leading many to wonder if GSP would inevitably be returning to the Octagon.

Since then, talks of a GSP return to the UFC have never been far from the mouth’s of MMA fans. Ahead of UFC 196 there were rumors of a potential GSP vs. Conor McGregor fight at UFC 200 if McGregor were to defeat Nate Diaz. Ultimately, Diaz submitted McGregor in the 2nd round of their welterweight fight.
