Former UFC welterweight kingpin Georges St-Pierre hasn’t fought in the Octagon since his UFC 167 split decision win over Johny Hendricks in 2013. Recently however, there has been much talk of a potential GSP return to the Octagon at UFC 200, where many fight fans would like to see him fight Robbie Lawler.

Northcutt recently posted a video showing off his stregth in the weightroom at the Tristar Gym. Northcutt isn’t only working on his strength and conditioning, but technique as well. “Super” Sage posted a photo getting in some work with former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.

July’s UFC 200 event in Las Vegas just added another blockbuster fight. Former  UFC lightweight and welterweight title holder BJ Penn (16-10-2 MMA) will return to the octagon on July 9 to take on bitter rival Georges St. Pierre (25-2 MMA).

Recently it was announced that the UFC had booked Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz II for the main event of UFC 200, and Jose Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar for an interim featherweight fight. The UFC then posted a photo counting down the days to UFC 200, using a photo of Georges St. Pierre, leading many to wonder if GSP would inevitably be returning to the Octagon.

Since then, talks of a GSP return to the UFC have never been far from the mouth’s of MMA fans. Ahead of UFC 196 there were rumors of a potential GSP vs. Conor McGregor fight at UFC 200 if McGregor were to defeat Nate Diaz. Ultimately, Diaz submitted McGregor in the 2nd round of their welterweight fight.

Former UFC welterweight kingpin Georges St. Pierre has never confirmed that he will in fact return to the UFC, however that hasn’t stopped everyone from speculating as to whether or not ‘Rush’ will return. In addition to his coach stating that GSP could be preparing to ‘make a splash’ soon, Rory MacDonald slipped up and said that GSP would be returning for super fights, not for the UFC welterweight championship.
